2bd/2ba condo at Casa Que Ve Al Mar

Welcome to our home away from home! It didn't take us long to fall in love with Zihuatanejo and knew we wanted a place of our own at La Casa Que Ve al Mar(the house that sees the sea). We hope you love it just as much.
Only 15-20 mins after you leave the airport you are home. The 1200sq ft condo in our gated community offers you two bedrooms, both with King size beds and two full bathrooms plus a cozy living area. A full kitchen stocked with all sorts of spices and most of your everyday cooking needs. (If you decide to cook for yourself that is) We highly recommend having the maid cook for you at least once! You won't regret it. It's our favorite meal when we are there. Plan for leftovers too! No need to worry about the drinking water in your unit. The water system in the complex is fully filtered. There is also a bottled water service on site.
Slide the glass panels to one side to make the condo a fully open-air unit and grab your drink of choice, sit back, relax, and enjoy the 5-star views of Playa La Ropa and the Bay of Zihuatanejo. The sunsets from your terrace can't be beaten!
Want a break from the sun or just need to cool down? Each room has its own A/C unit. We usually only use them when we go to bed or when we are gonna take a shower. The breeze coming off the ocean just feels so nice during the day we love to leave the panels open as much as possible.
Just down the staircase, you will find the 2 beautiful infinity pools with plenty of chaise lounge chairs. Don't want to be at the pool? There is also a small seating area just off to the side of the pool where you can still enjoy the views.
A short 5-7min walk downhill will put you right on the beautiful white sandy beach of Playa La Ropa. There you will find restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Massage tents (don't be afraid, they are amazing), parasailing, sea-doo's for rent, sport fishing boats for hire, paddle boarding, Hobie cat rentals, and tube rides!
At Casa Que Ve al Mar, you are in a very unique location, minutes from the beach or a short walk/quick taxi ride to multiple gourmet dining locations. Casa Que Canta, Tentaciones, Ristorante Il Mare, and Espuma to name a few.
Make sure to head into Zihua for more restaurants and shopping. See the fishers bring in their catch at Paseo de Pescadores, and maybe take one home for dinner. Wander through all the local artists selling their wares.
Take the water taxi (or walk the water/cliff edges if you're adventurous) and spend the day at Las Gatas where you will be taken care of for as long as you want to stay. Snorkel gear, paddle boards, food & drinks. You name it, they will get it! We highly suggest the Picante cruise as well. A great way to spend a few hours on the water!
Want a little bit more of the tourist city shopping and activities? Ixtapa is a 20min car ride north. Golf, shopping, tennis courts, more beaches, and night clubs.

First-timer tip- when you arrive, get your things settled in then head down to the beach for dinner and drinks at one of the restaurants where you can wiggle your toes in the sand and feel the ocean breeze on your skin. It's fabulous!

Our complex is a gated community of 39 condominiums with onsite parking. The condos were designed by renowned architect Enrique Zozoya. The complex is snuggled into the hillside just above Playa La Ropa surrounded by lush green trees with views to rave about.
You have your own personal washer and dryer. So you really can pack light! I finally learned that my 3rd time down.
Maid service twice a week, or more if you'd like. Additional fees apply for extra cleanings and must be arranged ahead of time.

Gated complex with 24hr security
Quick 5-minute taxi or bus ride to the Mega/Soriana (think Super Wal-Mart for Zihua) to get some groceries or whatever else you may have forgotten. The driver will wait for you if you ask, but there is never a shortage of taxis waiting to help.
Open-air Mercado with the freshest fruits/veggies/fish/meats
Also, Dulce, our on-site manager of sorts, is a wealth of information and can help with reservations, your maid cooking for you, etc.

Perfection!

The condo has everything we needed including comfy beds, nice linens, beach towels & toys! Unit locations is perfect with stunning views. Unit manager, housekeeper, and owner are kind, helpful, and responsive to our few needs. Other tenants are friendly and helpful. If you want any suggestions about the area just ask at the pool! We will definitely be returning .

Just what we wanted

We enjoyed the condo - great views, each bedroom having its own bath, and comfortable. Dulcie was wonderful and helped us with logistics. We thoroughly enjoyed Doris’ cooking and only wish we had it earlier in the week to enjoy all of the leftovers. Get the chicken tinga and beef with peppers - excellent! The walk to the beach and restaurants is very do-able as is a walk to downtown Z for dinner with a bus or cab ride back. The people of Zihuatanejo never disappoint - it is such a kind and warm environment.

Fantastic

The condo is in a great location with a beautiful view of the bay. It is a short walk to the beach and about 1 mile walk to town, which makes for a good morning workout (or easy to get a taxi back). The condo pool was very refreshing in the afternoon. Everyone that works there was super nice. The condo was comfortable and has pretty much everything you need to cook meals. We bought fresh fish from the fishermen in town and cooked it in the condo. Best fish I have eaten outside of Hawaii. Nice breezes most evenings but there were some hot and humid days that needed the air conditioner, which worked great. Too many restaurants to try but the few we did, based on condo recommendations, were great. I feel like we should have explored the town and area more but it was hard to tear ourselves away from Playa La Ropa and the condo pool. All in all, a fantastic place to just relax and enjoy the great weather and gorgeous views. I will definitely be back!

Disappointing Experience overall

The complex itself is pretty and very well maintained. The staff keep the pool and grounds meticulously well cared for. View is gorgeous! Regrettably, our experience was negative and could have been avoided had the owner been more flexible and sympathetic by not challenging us on EVERY single aspect of the problems we experienced. I’m the first to admit that “the customer ISN’T always right” but in this case, our complaints were valid. From the extreme noise of the construction vehicles going up and down the complex road (owner refused to believe this was true as "they aren't allowed to"!) - she got THAT wrong! I should mention that I have been an experienced Vacation Rental Manager for over 25 years and my reviews have always been outstanding on every rental platform. I take pride in what I do. However, the owner even chose to challenge me on this. I only have 1 review on my personal VRBO profile - Obviously a good reason for this is that I rarely rent homes myself? 11 days prior to arrival, we asked if there was construction noise close by as there’s a lot going on in the neighbourhood. She confirmed there was but the noise is “minimal” – Not true. There is a huge building going up next door. Different guests will have a gauge on how much noise they can put up with and the idea of staying 11 nights in this unit suffering with the construction noise and the fact that it also happens to be above the main road into Centro which is busy at all times of the day, made it more uncomfortable. Cleaning issues: There were several and, again, the owner sought to challenge us on every aspect and lectured us on cleaning and "life by the ocean". She insinuated we had checked in earlier than scheduled. (We checked in after 3 p.m.) Listing states 2 cleans are provided over 7 day period. By day 5, we still hadn’t had one. Owner was surprised by this. She then told us that “cleans are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Really? - A clean within 2 days of each other? I asked the Owner if we could check out and receive a refund. It was a battle. Eventually we got one and then she tried to retract it after we left! There is more to the story and I could go into great detail but let's just say she even said I "threatened her to write a bad review if I didn't get a refund"! This is NOT true! Sorry Shelby.. you dropped the ball on this one. I'm guessing it's your first rental and take this as a lesson on how to deal with keeping guests happy.

Gorgeous unit, fantastic stay

We stayed here in early December with our son and daughter-in-law. The unit was very clean and had really comfy beds. We especially appreciated having king sized beds in both bedrooms. The view from the unit was fantastic and we spent a lot of time sitting in the open air, taking it in. There was a great breeze flowing through the living areas; we only used the AC in our bedrooms at night. The walk down to the beach is easy...the walk back up is a little tougher in the heat! It is steep but doable. Lots of good restaurants there. We also ate in town several night. Ask around at the pool for great eating and entertainment ideas. Taxis are cheap and easy to get. Speaking of pools...they were great. Warm, clean and with a beautiful view. We felt extremely safe and there was always someone around to answer questions. A great stay

Breath taking views

We absolutely loved our stay at this amazing property. We loved the smaller size of the complex and found the unit itself had everything we needed (except beach toys, but we fixed that). Comfortable beds, nice linens and towels. There are 2 different pools and our kids used the pools everyday; some days multiple times. We could have packed a little lighter (wish we did) as there was a washer and dryer in the unit. Not far from one of our favourite beaches, la Playa Ropa, which was an easy walk down (slightly harder walk up - but not the worst). We knew we would be having nights in (since we have 2 kids) so being able to sit and enjoy the view was the best part. We hope to be back!

Wonderful views

We had a wonderful stay, with our daughter and her husband. Enjoy going to the beach and swimming and getting a good workout walk on the hill back home. In the evening we would walk to town, have a great meal, and taxi it back home. Everything is relatively close, if you get to far walking, no problem finding a taxi. Really enjoyed our time there.

We first came to Zihua for our 5yr wedding anniversary in 2016. Kevin isn't a fan of traveling, so when we decided to make this trip I told him he didn't get to see anything of what I was planning/paying/doing for our trip. I think it was either our 2nd or 3rd day at Casa Que Ve al Mar when he looked at me and said "When can we come back?" I took that as a major win!
I had suggested we try other places to stay after our first visit and Kevin always gave me a firm no. I was okay with it.
Each time we've been back, we meet and make more friends. The culture and the people are just so warm and open we couldn't help but fall in love. We knew we wanted to have our own place at CVM.

Why they chose this property

We chose Casa Que Ve al Mar because of it's unique location. We are close to the beach and also close to many amazing restaurants. Perched on the hillside allows us to sit on our terrace and watch the fish jumping in the bay in the mornings, see all the boats coming and going throughout the day and the large condors soaring overhead. Plus we have two amazing pools if we don't feel like leaving. Which happens quite a bit!
In the summer the tropical storms at night are just amazing to watch. The grounds are immaculately maintained. The staff are all wonderful and always ready to help as well.
It is very quiet and peaceful at CVM as well. We've met other owners on our visits and heard their stories why the bought at CVM. One story which stuck with us was this couple owned other condos in different locations in Zihua and sold them all as soon as they could buy at CVM.
For us, CVM has it all.
