Thanks for the great review Bob, we are glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and its location! We love the fact that it feels very rural with the view of the fields, but is just a short stroll to the village or the beach. Hope to see you again sometime.
The accommodation was very comfortable and in a great location for visiting everything on our wish list. Everything was nicely kept and very clean and easy to navigate with helpful house notes. Our only comment would be a shortage of cutlery, particularly teaspoons and the shower head over the bath needs attention, but all in all a very lovely home from home.
Great location for walking to the playground and restaurants. Easy walk to the shop and not far to the beach. Lovely location, the children loved the sheep and cows as well as the visiting rabbits. Would definitely recommend and would hope to return.

The cottage exceeded expectations and was lovely.. We enjoyed the situation and the walk across fields to the beach was a real bonus! An excellent pub nearby was a good addition too! Thank you .

Thank you for your review Marcia, glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and the local area. I'm sorry the access works at the end of the drive across the field had just started during your stay, they did somewhat spring that on us, however I understand it will only be ongoing for a few weeks at which point we will get a shiny new access road down there!
We had a fantastic stay at Nanny End cottage. The gardens were well maintained with plenty of furniture providing different views across the garden and the orchard. The cottage was lovely and clean, it was well equipped providing a number of lovely extras including a chocolate fondue set. The cottage was within easy reach of a number of areas to visit including Holy Island and Bamburgh, these are well worth a visit.

Thank you for the great review Sharon, we are glad you were able to enjoy the garden as much as we do and had the chance to get out and about to explore! Please come back any time!
Lovely cottage situated on the edge of the village so very peaceful. Easy 10 min walk into the village for dinner etc.
Great location, easy to head north or south as bang in the middle of a great piece of coastline. Nicely equipped cottage that had everything we needed ( 4 adults staying ). Only slight issue we had was the booking system let us book sat to sat, but as the booking was processed it we were moved to fri to fri.
We would happily stay again.

Thanks for your great review David, we are glad you enjoyed your stay at Nanny End and its location on our beautiful coastline. We look forward to having you back soon!
Sorry about the hiccough with the start date of your holiday. Unfortunately if we fix the changeover day to Friday on the system it will not allow guests to search for a short break which we offer in the low season. The joys of automation!
We had a wonderful week at the above property. The cottage was warm and cosy and we had everything we needed. It was very clean and the bed was very comfy! It was only a short walk across the field to the beach. We enjoyed a couple of days sitting out and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the garden. We bought the most delicious fresh crab from Seahouses and very much enjoyed a trip to Holy Island. We can thoroughly recommend the Potted Lobster at Bamburgh!

Property was modern and comfortable. It is in a quiet location a short walk from the beach.
The property was in a good location for access to the Northumberland coast. Yet close to plenty of nice restaurants and supermarkets for those nights in. Cosy cottage with good heating and plenty of room for 4 or us. Smart TV, which meant we could spend a little time catching up on some box sets also! Some of the equipment in the kitchen was a bit dated but fine for our simple meals in. Having two bathrooms was helpful for us. Plenty of space outside, although a little too chilly for us to appreciate! A cottage I would recommend especially if you are after some stunning coastal walks!

Thank you for your feedback and for getting in touch while you were at the cottage, it makes it so much easier for us to address any little issues. I have replaced the scissors you mentioned and will check the rest of the kitchen equipment to see if there is anything else that would benefit from being renewed. Feel free to send me a private message if there was anything in particular you were thinking of. We also removed and replaced the silicone in the shower as soon as you left to fix that weep in the corner.
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and found the cottage comfortable and cosy, we love the fact that it feels so private, but it's still so close to the village and great places to eat.
Thank you for recommending Nanny End, we hope to see you again soon!
I only booked the week before our arrival date & had specifically looked for a property with no stairs and all on the flat, as we were taking my elderly mam with us who has had a stroke.
Charlotte was so helpful with my questions and agreed to a slightly later checkout time (we paid extra) as mam isn't so good first thing.
On arrival, our key was easy to find in the key safe and we were blown away by the views and how quiet it was..lots of cows mooing at us saying hello was such a delight!
The cottage was so cosy once we got the log burner going and turned the heating up, everything was provided for a comfortable stay. We chose to stay in first night and just relax, it was perfect.
The cottage is about 10 mins walk over the field to Beadnell beach but unfortunately the walkway area of the field is cordoned off at the bottom as there's building work going on, (nowhere near the cottage and no noise at all) so we had to walk through the cows which was a bit scary as some other walkers suddenly decided to let their dog off the lead which completely unnerved the cows and I felt the need to speak up! I just don't understand the mentality of some people.
The beach was beautiful, we wandered and I found shells and even some seaglass!
We took some wine and sat looking out on the waves and raised a toast our (1 belated) 50th birthdays!
Walking home we stumbled into the Craster Arms for an outdoor nightcap and then headed back to the cottage (and my very chilled out mam) a short walk away.
The weather was so kind to us and we sat outside in the sun, trips to Seahouses and Bamburgh etc but actually coming back to the cottage was our favourite. It felt like home.
Thank you again Charlotte for a lovely stay..and obviously we will be back!
We had a fabulous week at Nanny End. House, garden and location were all perfect. A short walk across the field leads you to the beach. Other great beaches, castles, attractions are all reasonably close-by. The house is really well equipped and attractively decorated. Really lovely to come home to after a day exploring. Owner Charlie was very pleasant to deal with. We would thoroughly recommend Nanny End.

We are so pleased you had a good stay and its always a bonus to see the wildlife round and about! Please come back any time!
Our stay coincided with some very uncertain times in this country but we had a lovely stay none the less. The cottage was homely and comfortable and proved an ideal sanctuary. It was well positioned to get to places of interest. It’s just a shame so much was closed. However, we will have to visit again to experience the full Northumberland hospitality and when we do, we won’t have any hesitations to stay at Nanny end again :)

Fantastic to be back for a second time to this beautiful cottage - ideally located a short walk across the field from the beach. A glass of wine and supper in front of the log burner was a perfect start to our break. Cottage is very comfortable and well equipped - great to have a choice of walks straight from the front door and to be in walking distance of some great pubs too. The scenery is so beautiful and surprisingly still possible to feel as if we had the beach to ourselves. My perfect bolt hole for a relaxing break. Thank you
We loved this cottage. It was very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The garden and surroundings were lovely. The location was brilliant for visiting the local area and very close to the beach. We hope to visit again in the future!

About the host
Hosted by Charlie @ Nanny End
Nanny End is owned by the parents of Charlie Slater. Charlie and her husband Andrew converted the farm steading that is Beadnell Green in 2008/9 and fell in love with Nanny End and its stunning location. Charlie & Andrew own Alexandra Cottage which is a short walk across the field from Nanny End. The cottages work really well together for family holidays.
Why they chose this property
This cottage is in the perfect location; set in the fields behind the sand dunes, yet just a short stroll across the field or down the lane to either the village of Beadnell and it's choice of unspoilt sandy beaches. The large garden is enclosed and private and a real sun trap - there is nothing better than catching the evening sun with a glass of something cold after a hard day on the beach or visiting one of the many local castles.
Our visitors come back again and again as they say it is a "home from home" Testimonials include: "We felt spoilt"
"We'd definitely come here again"
"Everything and more provided - just bring yourselves and your clothes"
"Fantastic. Very COVID safe too"
What makes this property unique
Nanny End is full of character. Originally a farm steading called Beadnell Green, the buildings were converted into three cottages in 2008, ensuring that lots of original features were retained. Guests staying in the master bedroom will be sleeping in the old milking parlour! Residing at the bottom of a private drive in the open countryside, Beadnell green is the ultimate in seclusion, whilst still being just a short stroll from both the village with its two superb pubs, or the long sandy beaches for which Northumberland is renowned.
