Nestled in a lush 3,000 m² orchard at the foot of Mount Etna, this charming villa promises an unforgettable stay. Combining nature, relaxation and breathtaking views, this residence is ideal for those who want to escape from everyday life without sacrificing comfort and the beauty of the breathtaking views of Taormina and the Mediterranean Sea.

The House

The interior of the Vecchio Palmento, an ancient wine mill that has been skilfully restored, opens its doors to a refined 100 m² holiday home, perfectly embodying the combination of modern comfort and Sicilian authenticity. Guests can enjoy a spacious living area with a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, a cosy bathroom with a shower, toilet and bidet, and two adjoining loft sleeping areas. The first has a comfortable double bed, while the second has a sofa bed that can accommodate two more people. Obviously, the property is ideal for a single couple.
Central heating and air conditioning (except in the kitchen) ensure maximum comfort in all seasons.
Outside, the villa boasts two panoramic terraces on two levels, connected by a charming spiral staircase. The upper terrace of 100 square metres offers a patio with a barbecue area, dining table and relaxation area, perfect for outdoor entertainment under the starry Sicilian sky. The lower terrace, measuring 40 square metres, invites you to relax completely with a mini-spa equipped with a panoramic hot tub, offering unique moments of peace between chromotherapy, aromatherapy and the surrounding nature. (Hot water for the hot tub is available on request.)

A great place to end our tour of Sicily

The property is dripping with charm inside and out. The views are magnificent and the hot tub is an added treat. The owners are very involved and helpful. There is a lot of attention to detail. The location was ideal to tour this side of Sicily .

Simply gorgeous

A lovely very classic country home built on the side of a hill with a sumptuous view of the Sea dine surrounded by the old wine press and take in the sunrises and sunsets from the spacious veranda. The hosts are lovely and came to meet us personally. We are grateful Aldo and Rosy are so generous to share this lovely place with Vrbo guests. Don’t miss this one!

The best view, and peaceful

Clean, comfortable beads, working A/C when needed, affordable rental with wonderful views of Sicily’s East Coast, and Calabria. The Sunrise was breathtaking. Loved the history of the house. We are a family of 3, stayed 6 nights during the hot summer, but it did not feel that hot, the weather is nicer staying up in the mountain, and surrounded by olive trees, grapes, and silence. We loved looking at the stars at night while enjoying the hot tub. We cooked every day, grocery store not far with everything we needed, very reasonable prices. Owner Aldo was kind and welcoming, always fast to respond and help. Our best meal out was Brick Oven Pizza for dinner at Bar Caffe Nuovo in the town of Gaggi, recommended!! Thank you so much Aldo and Rosa!

Ruhige, erholsame Tage verlebt

Schönes Objekt am Fuße des Ätna. Herlicher Ausblick bis zum Meer. In Kürze mit Whirlpool ausgestattet. Straße zum Ferienhaus etwas schmal und reparaturbedürftig. Vermieter Rosi und Aldo sehr freundlich und stets hilfsbereit. Verständigung hauptsächlich englisch.

Ehemalige Mühle auf Sizilien

Die Vermieter haben uns sehr freundlich empfangen und die letzten 2 Km des Weges begleitet. In der Mühle war alles so wie auf den Bildern. Es war noch recht kühl, deshalb hat sich der Vermieter sehr viel Mühe gegeben uns bis spät am Abend noch weiteres Gas und Holz für den Kamin zu besorgen. Von der Terrasse hatten wir einen sehr schönen Blick ins Tal bis Taormina. Auch als es Probleme mit dem Leihwagen gab, kam Aldo, unser Vermieter vorbei und hat uns sehr geholfen. Die Lage der Mühle ist sehr gut um auch Ausflüge in die Umgebung zu unternehmen. Insgesamt haben wir unsere Woche dort sehr genossen! Danke an Aldo und Rosi. Ciao!!

Palmiere Ferienhaus

Sehr schönes Haus, genauso wie beschrieben. Es ist sehr gut ausgestattet und sehr gemütlich. Der Ausblick ist wunderbar. Waren in der 2. Oktoberhälfte da und wir haben es genossen, mit dem Kamin zu heizen und auch ansonsten ist es absolut ausreichend warm. Außergewöhnlich nette Vermieter, guter, angenehmer Kontakt. Sowohl die Wanderwege rund um den Ätna als auch das Meer sind mit dem Auto innerhalb von 15 Minuten zu erreichen.

Beautiful and rustic

The peacefulness and authentic character of the house were amazing! Aldo had to come meet us when we got lost trying to find it but he and Rosy were so helpful and even made us a dinner reservation nearby. It was so good we went back the next night! So much to see in Sicily and this location is a good balance for distance to those sites. Thanks!

Beautiful place to relax

This is a fantastic property. It has so much character, just like Rosa and Aldo who drove from Catania to welcome us. They could not have been kinder. They settled us in then showed us round the local town. The old wine mill is very open plan. Apart from the door on the bathroom I don't think there are any other doors. We loved sleeping up in the loft. The bed was very comfortable. It was warm in June, even though there was a fan, so in the height of summer it would be hot. The kitchen is very well equipped. Best of all is the outdoor terrace with views out to Taormina. We would thoroughly recommend it as a beautiful place to stay.

Spannende Unterkunft in ruhiger Umgebung

Die Vermieterin und die hilfsbereiten Nachbarn waren sehr gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Bei sonnigem Wetter eine Traumlage wegen der tollen Terasse, auf der man problemlos ganze Tage verbringen kann. Bei regnerischem Wetter, das wir leider hatten, wären im Haus vielleicht etwas mehr gemütliche Sitzgelegenheiten wünschenswert. Ansonsten eine schöne und besondere Unterkunft in ruhiger Abgeschiedenheit als Standort für Ausflüge in die weitere Umgebung.

wunderschöner Ort um abzuschalten

Dieses Domizil war für unseren 1wöchigen Urlaub im April 18 wunderbar! Für 2 Personen sehr großzügig, für 4 eher nur für Familien mit 2 Kindern (2 Doppelbetten in einem Raum) Die Vermieter - auch vertreten durch hilfsbereite Nachbarn - waren sehr gastfreundlich. Schmale Zufahrtstraße, unbedingt kleines (Miet-)Auto benutzen.

Paradies auf Zeit

Ein Ort, an den man gerne zurückkommt. Zu (fast) jeder Jahreszeit. Bei Sonne ist die Terrasse der Ort der Wahl, bei Wolken, Regen und Sturm lässt sich's vor dem Kamin gut aushalten, bis die Aussicht auf Taormina, die Straße von Messina und den Aspromonte wieder frei ist und die Sonne wieder nach draußen lockt. Danke an Rosy, ihren Mann, Michela und Michele für die diskrete, aber sehr aufmerksame Gastfreundschaft!

Eine sehr entspannte Zeit

Einfach wohlgefühlt...

Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt, die Unterkunft ist doch etwas abgelegen, für uns die die Ruhe suchen war das genau richtig; der Blick Richtung Taormina und Meer ist wunderbar, man ist schnell am Strand und in der Natur und das Haus als solches hat und bietet das was man braucht, danke an Rosi und Mann, wir wurden herzlich empfangen, hoffe wir sehen uns wieder. 3 Wochen Wanderurlaub für 2 Erwachsene und 1 Hund

Wir können uns den Bewertungen unserer Vorgänger nur anschließen. Die Freundlichkeit und die Hilfsbereitschaft der Gastgeber sind einzigartig. Der große Garten ein Paradies für den Hund :-). Wenn man dort wandern möchte, ist ein Auto und ein GPS Gerät unbedingt ratsam. Die Wanderwege sind teilweise schlecht oder gar nicht beschildert und die Einstiege oft nur schwer zu finden. Aber wenn man darüber hinwegsehen kann, wird man mit einer einzigartigen und vielfältigen, wilden Natur - immer im Angesicht des stets qualmenden Ätna - belohnt. Der einzige Wermutstropfen ist der viele Müll, der sorglos überall in die Natur geworfen wird - eine Schande! :-( Das gilt natürlich nicht für unsere Gastgeber, auch hier war alles vorbildlich. Wir behalten diesen Urlaub in sehr angenehmer Erinnerung und können den Aufenthalt bei Rosy allen Naturliebhabern nur empfehlen.

Ferienhaus mit Panoramablick

Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und zum Haus geleitet, das von Gärten umgeben am Hang liegt. Dort begeisterte uns vor allem die Terrasse, von der man einen Blick bis hinunter aufs Meer und Taormina hat. Im Haus ist ist alles vorhanden, was man sich nur wünschen kann. Als Ausgangspunkt für Ätnawanderungen und Spaziergänge durch die ländliche Umgebung ist die Unterkunft ideal gelegen. Kann man nur bestens weiter empfehlen!
