Amazing cottage! Location is spectacular - stones throw from the train station and just far away enough from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Area is secure and quiet. The cottage itself is lovely. Loads of space and character for two families of three. Kitchen is very well appointed and has everything you need. Louise is a wonderful host. Communication was a 10/10. Everything was simple and easy - exactly what you want while travelling. We would definitely book with Louise again!
Well appointed accommodation in a quiet street. Yet just walk through the Museum Gardens (5 mins) and you are in the heart of York. The railway station is 10 mins pleasant stroll along the riverside. What's not to like?
The cottage was the best experience I’ve ever had with a rental. It was centrally located. Impeccably kept. Our host Louise was magnificent. I intend to go there again no complaints at all, it was perfect.
Our family stayed for a week in preparation for our daughter’s wedding in York. It was an enjoyable stay: wonderful location, comfortable accommodations, attentive host. Excellent experience.
Perfect location for our family wedding at the Hospitium. Easy access to train, town, venue & necessities. Clean, comfortable beds & with extra thoughtful perks.Highly recommend.
comfortable, easy access to everything to all york has to offer...lovely fixtures...Louise was easily reachable and responsive...a pleasure to work with her...thank you so much for a memorable trip!
We felt immediately at home in this cosy and comfortable house. The beds were super comfy and kitchen well-equipped. The location was second-to-none, as we frequently wanted to pop back during the day with our purchases or just to rest weary feet! It was so convenient, with a short scenic walk through the park to the centre of town. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for all the useful information, Louise!
Wonderful cottage in the most perfect location. Close to everything and across from museum gardens which are lovely. Super host who certainly goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is amazing. Absolutely loved coming home to this cozy cottage after spending the day exploring York.
Was thrilled with our stay. Everything was perfectly suited for a “girls” trip to York. There were 5 of us and the common areas were spacious and comfortable. Bedrooms beautifully appointed. What I had not focused on was location as the other details were of more import for us .Oh my! It could not have been better! Across from the Museum Gardens, a block from the river. Quiet, very little traffic and accessible to pretty much everything we wanted to do. The easy walk to the train station made both train and bus use a breeze.Loved it .And Louise was very patient and accommodating with my scheduling challenges !
Property was great, but the location was the show stopper. We loved the beautiful view and the close proximity to the museum gardens. Easy walk to the train station and lovely trek through the gardens to all of the shops, eateries, and attractions. Wonderful hostess and good communication.
What a gorgeous place to stay in York. A short walk across the park brings you right to the heart of the city. The cottage is extremely comfortable with modern amenities alongside lots of original features. We really enjoyed meeting up with family here. Thanks Louise!
We had a fantastic stay in Louise's gorgeous cottage. Beautifully decorated, luxury bedding, comfy beds and just 5 mins from centre of York. Check in was easy and Louise allowed us a later checkout which tied in nicely with our train home. We have all agreed that we would love to come back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the cottage to others coming to York.

We stayed in Louise’s beautiful property while in York. We were members of a family ranging from 17-83. There was ample space for recreating, sleeping, eating in comfort, and the house was immaculate and cozy. Located across the quiet street from Museum gardens and a medieval church, a short walk from the riven Ouse, the setting was idylic.
This home was the perfect spot for our visit to York. The Minster and Shambles were easy walks through the beautiful Museum Gardens and the Abbey ruins were just across the street. Shops were just up the block including a Sainsburys which was very handy to have close by. The home is quite charming with a well equipped kitchen and a nice sitting room where we could all gather in the evening.
