Cute and comfortable, this quiet cottage built in 1800 offers a peaceful escape for those in search of a tranquil Boothbay Harbor experience. Unplug and appreciate the surroundings in the warmth of the sunroom. The living room includes more blankets, additional seating, and a resituated pull-out couch for optimal lounging as you watch TV. Need some quiet time? Enjoy the separate bunkhouse that has been converted into a comfortable, relaxing space with a library. The Lobster Trap, a three-season (spring, summer, and fall) garage hangout space, features cozy blankets, an electric fireplace, a couch, a custom bar with bar stools, a Fire TV, and a full-sized refrigerator. For fun, try the ping-pong table, the dartboard, the deluxe Scrabble board, or a game of Hook 21. The yoga mat is perfect for winding down, as are the L.L. Bean rocking chairs.

Take a walk through the neighborhood on your way to the beach at Barrett Park. The cottage is located on 1.5 acres giving it a secluded feel. There are also great outdoor spaces, including two lawns for the kids to play on, a firepit location with Adirondack chairs and new solar lighting for family gatherings, a propane grill, and many lawn games included with the property. Indulge in grilled meals on the new custom-built picnic table. There is very little light pollution on the property so the stars are beautiful if you are interested in stargazing. When it's time to call it a night, take refuge in the primary bedroom and turn on the electric fireplace for a cozy ambience as you drift to sleep.

This home sits within walking distance of Barrett Park (three-quarters of a mile south), where you can have a scenic picnic or swim in the waters of Lewis Cove. Downtown Boothbay Harbor is one mile west across the footbridge, home to beautiful marinas, fantastic restaurants, and charming shops. The area immediately surrounding town is similarly full of activities. It is also less than three miles from the Boothbay Harbor Country Club. Take the kids to the Maine State Aquarium, located four miles west. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens are also just four miles away, where you can walk the trails to view 250 acres of manicured gardens and natural landscape.

This home has been the epitome of a coastal Maine home for over 222 years. The charm and solid construction is both timeless and enduring. You'll enjoy the cottage and all that the Boothbay Harbor area offers during your stay.

Very comfortable and fun place to stay.
We enjoyed all of it, it was so nice to have a separate cottage for the game room. The fire pit was a plus.

Very cute, not at all as it was explained
The house was very cute, convenient distance to town, and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The lamp in the room with the double bed had no chain and was off, so we had to move another lamp into that room for light. There was no place in the description that said the sun room was not insulated. I would highly recommend putting that as a disclaimer, especially in colder months, as we did not feel comfortable having our son sleep out there with temperature being low. The fireplace helped but not enough to be comfortable sleeping, and we had to have him sleep with us in the King. The advertisement made it seem like there was a double bed in addition to two trundle beds, so we were a little surprised by the sleeping arrangements. There is one King, one double trundle bed, and one twin trundle bed in the sun room. There was a note with a key saying that we had access to the reading shed and the garage lounge, but the note online said there was no access to the garage so it was very confusing. Also, the key worked for the reading shed but we were not able to access the garage. Maybe they didn't want us to have access because of the season and cold weather? Not a bad place and would have been much more lovely in the summer, especially now that we understand exactly what the sleeping arrangements were.

Cute place in a good location
We enjoyed the cottage in this location - which was close to town, restaurants and a park. The Botanical Gardens are just a short drive away and we enjoyed that one day, and then the Harbor Cruises are great! We took one that included pulling a lobster trap. Great narrator on the boat. Very interesting and beautiful cruise. The restaurant we enjoyed most was the Tugboat Inn. The staff was amazing, the food was delicious and the drinks were great. The best spot we dined while there. The cottage has everything you need in the kitchen, and the largest bedroom upstairs was very comfy (that was where I slept!). The furniture downstairs was comfortable as well. We did have a few glitches with our stay, and one was the trash as noted by a previous guest. We contacted Vacasa and the Rubbish company was there the following day but i think the issue was that the previous guests did not follow the instruction to leave the trash bags in the trash cans out back. The other issue that didn't really bother us but would have really bothered a friend of ours (or anyone with allergies) who decided not come is the mustiness/smell in the house, which was mild, but in the other two buildings it was strong. The other two buildings were adorable, one is a library and one is a game room. Both of these were musty - which I am sure is because they are closed up and there has been a lot of rain this summer. As for walking to town, the road is EXTREMELY curvy and hilly and we did not feel safe walking on the road due to fast traffic and no sidewalks or shoulder on the road. The house is very old, and quaint, but we enjoyed our time there. Decor is very cute. If you are old like me, be careful if you sit in the very comfy big bean bags!! I needed a lift from my friends to get up!! haha!! All in all, we had a great time!
