Welcome to Cottage at Roads End, situated on one of the most desirable streets in all of Boothbay Harbor. This one-story, 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath year-round, Cottage/Home is within walking distance of the Footbridge and all downtown amenities. Enjoy beautiful views of the harbor from the interior as well as on the wrap-around outdoor deck. Treat yourself to spectacular western-sky sunsets, with views across New England's oldest continuously working Lobster Pound. The master bedroom affords completely private views of a woodland forest, replete with song birds and butterflies, and includes an en-suite 1/2 bathroom and walk-in closet, along with access to the wrap-around deck. A separate laundry room (mudroom/pantry) is conveniently just off the kitchen. You will treasure coming down this lovely road with views to the ocean! Adjacent to the town's most popular duck pond, enjoy baby mallards, night herons, and occasional eagles, all from the comfort of the outdoor deck. Relax beneath the custom canvas awning where you can delight in watching the harbor activities from seasonal fireworks to windjammers and lobster boat races!
Boothbay Harbor is unique in that it offers tourist interests such as many shops, restaurants, galleries, boat tours, island excursions and festivals, along with all the activity of a working commercial fishing waterfront. Watch as lobster boats pull up and unload their catch right in front of you!

Thank you so much for your kind words! It was truly our pleasure hosting you and are glad that you enjoyed your stay.
We absolutely loved our visit to the Boothbay Harbor area and our stay here was amazing. It was very close to many things in the area and the view from the front porch was beautiful. We loved having the room to spread out and really enjoy the area. Loved and would definitely stay again. We especially loved watching the little duckies in the pond next to the property. They were so adorable.

My stay in Boothbay Harbor was wonderful. The cozy cottage was very clean, with a well- stocked kitchen and comfortable living spaces. The location was perfect- an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and the waterfront, plus a great base for day trips exploring other part of Maine’s coast. I would stay her again!

Thank you so much for being our guest! Glad you enjoyed your stay and would love to host you again!
It was a quiet, relaxing and peaceful getaway. The wrap around porch next to small babbling brook into a duck filled pond was enjoyable. The sunsets and sunrise wile sitting on the porch making it much more lovely. The place was clean, Beth was wonderful to communicate with prior to and during the visit. I would love to rent for a week. The coffee mugs were perfect.

Charming home, nicely furnished, centrally located, walkable to town and restaurants, very clean!
We enjoyed our stay in Boothbay Harbor. The home is on a nice street with views of the harbor from the deck. The house was clean, had comfortable beds, large, fluffy towels, nice furnishings. The location is very convenient.
Loved the location to walk into town. Was great for us- perfect size for a couple. House was clean and well appointed. Especially loved feeding the ducks. Would stay again.
Overall a great stay! Was a great location to be able to travel other towns of Maine. The home accommodated our family of five perfectly. Plenty of room to relax and enjoy the view.

Nice Cottage - not on the water
We had a lovely stay in BoothBay Harbor. The town, people, food and surroundings are amazing! The cottage is at the end of a road, not on the water as the description might lead you to believe. The owners keep the cottage very clean and the checkin process was very smooth. We fell in love with the town and will visit again - but we'll look for a lake house next time.

Thank you for your feedback and staying with us and glad you enjoyed the harbor. I'm sorry you felt mislead by the description. It has been updated to make clear that we are across the road from harbor.
We loved everything about this sweet little cottage that looks over the water and a working lobster dock. It is at the end of a beautiful, leafy street lined with older, stately homes, and it’s walkable to restaurants, lobster wharves, etc. The cottage is well appointed and comfortable, from the thick, fluffy towels, to the cozy furniture, crisp linens, and nice deck furniture. Communication with the owner was excellent; she was very responsive and clear. Highly recommend for a small family or couple who wants to be close to Boothbay Harbor, yet have some peace and quiet in a nice neighborhood.
Gorgeous view of a working Lobster fishing operation that most days started at 4:30. -5:00 am. Very loud and noisy .Poor attendance to provisions in the house. We had to buy all paper products, salt, pepper, coffee cups that you could drink out of! I text the owner for Resturant recommendations, no reply. Lot of time dealing with “how to turn the Television on”. The owner sent her son over to help. He was there maybe 30 seconds ,pushed some buttons. But he failed to show us the last one to turn it on? Beth did offer to drop by but we were walking out the door for a dinner reservation. Very dangerous porch railing on right side. We loved Maine and our 18 days in Boothbay but not the house or uninvolved owner!

Hi Sandra, Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry to hear you were unhappy with the house and with your stay. We do try to stock the house with basic items, but unfortunately are not able to provide everything. As well, I do my best to respond to all texts, emails and phone calls. All other guests have given us 5 star reviews and we have many parties return year after year. I sincerely regret not being able to meet your needs. Best Regards,
Beth
We enjoyed our visit to Boothbay Harbor and liked the house . The accommodations were cozy and comfortable plus we enjoyed a view of the sunsets. We spent time sitting on the deck reading and were pleased to find there was a grill we could use. The cottage was just the right size for four people and had comfortable beds. The house was equipped with all that we needed . We liked the neighborhood and found that we were close to the downtown area. Our favorite activity was watching the ducks that were fed every morning near our cottage.
This is the perfect location, on a dead end road with views of sail boats gliding by! VRBO Pictures do not capture the true charming nature of this cottage. Beds were comfy, kitchen had everything to be able cook in! The deck was our favorite part, with views of the water as well! This is a 5 out of 5 on all levels!
Loved this spot so much did not want to leave. We met up with adult children and their daughters. The neighborhood is very sweet, and the girls were happy to ride bikes and met other young kids who were happy to see them as well . Can walk everywhere, which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. The lobster boats start early no doubt, but as an early riser it wasn’t an issue we appreciated the working harbor rather than just a tourist town. The cottage is a gem, well stocked with just about everything you could need, hassle free check in and out. Beth is an amazing host, appreciated her local knowledge and she is quick to respond. Next time it’s just me and my husband 😉
My family of 4 stayed in this lovely Boothbay home for a week. The neighborhood is charming and the deck is a great feature. The walk into town is easy with picturesque views but if you don't feel like walking the drive is easy enough with plenty of inexpensive (or free) parking options depending on the time of day. Bring your favorite coffee for the 12 cup drip machine and you should find a good variety of basic spices and oils for budget saving meal nights. We had a number of meals at the house and he only kitchen item I felt was missing was a large microwavable glass or ceramic bowl. (for heating larger quantities).
The linens and towels were ample and of good quality. The beds were comfortable too. The futon was too firm for me but my 12 year old slept on it one night for a change of pace.
There are a few extras like playing cards, binoculars and a small, random collection of books and games. It might be nice to have a guestbook.
Checkout was easy (throw in some towels if you can) and not arduous at all.
The best thing about my stay (besides the bucolic view) was working with Beth to arrange my stay. I had to interact with her a few times and found her to be kind and responsive and flexible.
Sweet cottage with great view, walkable to town, and full of niches to relax in.
The colorful sunsets, views of harbor, location adjacent to duck pond and lobster pound are just a few of the things we really liked. The kitchen was small but well stocked, the deck perfect to enjoy August in Maine (bring citronella candles), and the beds and living room were very comfy. We walked into town, went out to breakfast, and enjoyed walks throughout town.

About the host
Hosted by Beth G.
My husband and I bought this cottage in February of 2019. It had been lovingly maintained and we knew it would make a wonderful second home for our family to enjoy during summer and Christmas vacations, and the occasional ski trip. I grew up in Maine, and have many wonderful memories of Boothbay Harbor as a child, not to mention worked during summer months waiting tables at several fine establishments in the area.
Why they chose this property
Cottage at Roads End is sunny, comfortable, well laid-out and perfectly located in Boothbay Harbor. Close enough to walk to all the town's amenities, but also away from the busyness on a quiet, dead-end street.
What makes this property unique
Roads End is one of the prettiest streets in Maine. The home is cozy and comfortable and is within walking distance to the heart of the Harbor. Watch as fisherman unload their catch right across the street at New England's oldest continuous working lobster pound. Enjoy the most beautiful sunsets from the living room or deck.
