This was a lovely little secluded place out in the country. I would definitely recommend this as a launching spot for any North Shore adventures for a small party.
We enjoyed this property. It was like a trip back to grandpa’s house. We enjoyed a beautiful bonfire and a perfect thunderstorm. We got off the grid and enjoyed the solitude! Thank you!
Great cabin. Small, but so nice and cozy. Had everything we needed. Super private in the woods. Fire pit with lots of fire wood. They even had marshmallow sticks, folding chairs and bug spray. I already want to be back!
The property was just as described and communication with the host was excellent. The space had all amenities I needed along with a fire pit and nice quiet outdoor setting. The WiFi was very nice as cell service was non-existent - and I slept super well. The home does have a “mildew” smell to it but it wasn’t too bad. Also, the hot water wasn’t always consistent so the shower got a bit cold. But overall - I really enjoyed the space!

Interesting
It was okay. Never saw the river. Only TV was DVD no cable or television service. Very small. Do not see 4 people being in this location. The dryer did not work. Was not aware of septic system or well water. Many flies in the house despite never allowing them in.

This was a lovely cabin for a few days stay and was super convenient to the north shore. It was easy to find and get to, and the owners were great about communicating. It has everything you might need, from tv & wifi to nice kitchen area and laundry machines. However it's a cabin, not a hotel, there are a few awkward design compromises, like no sink in the bathroom. We thought it was great, but just hold that in mind.
We were three people- adult couple and our child, and the cabin was perfect- we slept on the bed while the kiddo slept on the futon in the living room. No door, just curtains, between bedroom and living room though, in case you have light sleepers.
The cabin has ac and we were there on the hottest weekend of the summer and it was up to the task. The outdoors is nice, with a lovely fire pit, but it's also the north woods so there will be skeeters in summer. We were fine sitting outside during the middle of the day, but it was a bit too buggy to do much hanging out by the fire in the evening.
One thing to note is that they don't seem to forbid smoking, so there was a bit of a cigarette smell in the cabin. We didn't notice it after a few minutes being inside, but be aware if you're sensitive.
Very private and quiet. Host helpful with check in when we were unable to access info outside of mobile territory. My first experience with VRBO so I was a little unprepared for lack of access until we got in. I would gladly return.
The location in relation to the shoreline where we spent most of our time was great, I thought is was a very reasonable price and it was very clean. The reasons I couldn't give it a 5 star was the property outside was a little unkept (i.e. the grass was not trimmed under the picnic table so not very inviting and not a clear smooth walkway to the door). The other reason is the shower/bathroom set up is a little "quirky" (there is "no sink" and the shower is in a clawfoot tub making it very difficult to get in and out of and keep shower the curtains around you to keep water from getting all over and still reach your shampoo and soap). The host was EXTREMELY responsive and would recommend unless you are a person with mobility issues because of the bathroom setup path to the door.
After a couple, of calls, texts and emails to the host, we were happy with our stay.
I was given the code to the key lockbox for the key and where the password was to the Wi-Fi, but not how to open the key lockbox.
We had never used a key lockbox before, but we tried to figure it out.
Since this area doesn't have good internet and cell phone service, we had to go to an area, about 8 miles away where we could, TRY and call the host.
Both my daughter and I tried. Finally, he DID call her back and said he would open the lockbox for us.
I think there should have been some type of explanation on how to use a key lockbox for people that have never used one.
After we went back to the cottage, that he had opened before we got back. it was very nice, and we enjoyed it, but there was a time where we didn't know if he would get back to us.
We did enjoy the peaceful quiet surroundings. Once we were able to contact the host about the lockbox situation... Yes, I would recommend it for a quiet few days.
Hosts were really clear with instructions on how to work everything, and really was a pretty spacious place for 2 people! We found it quite amazing that we are 15 mins away from Two Harbors and 30 mins away from Downtown Duluth. If you are looking for an amazing home base to come to and just disconnect for the night this is the perfect spot!
Very cozy and quiet stay. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

It was great. The only thing is the bed was a little saggy in the middle. Other than that, we enjoyed it very much and it was just right.

Exactly as advertised. Cute, simple little cabin. My dad and I came to run Grandma's Marathon and lodging was hard to find. This was reasonably priced, close distance to Two Harbors, and we both slept great in the sleeping spaces provided. I would stay again just to enjoy the peace and scenery.
We had a great experience during our stay at the cabin, communication was excellent with the owners, it was quiet and peaceful in and around the cabin during our stay, we will be back.
We stayed at Grapevine Cottage for 2 weeks in mid-November. It was perfect for the purpose of our visit. Our daughter's family lives about 35 miles from this location and we wanted to feel like we were living nearby. They could visit us, and we could be involved in their family's activities. This location fit the bill perfectly. During the times when we were not with them my husband and I could relax at the cottage and enjoy the scenery. It snowed some almost every day of our stay and it was beautiful. Thankfully our rental car had 4-wheel drive and heated seats. (Smile) The house is rustic, but we are used to that. We would rent this cottage again if we visit - especially with a 4-wheel drive and heated seats.
Ideal location for our current leg of the Superior Hiking Trail. Accurate description. Well priced. The weather made it more difficult to take advantage of the great outdoor setting.

Quiet little cabin. No disruption from anyone. Comfortable beds and recliner chairs. Close to the shore of Lake Superior at a great price. Didn’t cook in the house, but had everything I would have needed. Had a mildew smell, but seemed to mostly be in the entry and a door could close the smell out. Could use some more linen for the futon. No TV channels, which I loved. DVDs provided. Wifi in cabin, but little to no cellphone coverage, which was also kinda nice once we found the place. Overall pretty good.
