The unit was decorated really cute with the 50s theme. It was clean and comfortable. However the steep stairs up to it were hard to manuever with knee and hip problems. Had some trouble with the TV and spoke with Janelle who was going to send me instructions but I didn’t get anything. I would recommend this location for a girls weekend. Just not if you have any mobility issues.

Very cute theme and nice apt. Be aware that the steps up to the rental are very steep and not for anyone with knee or hip problems.

The place is super cute. Just a few things of note. The sheets aren’t cotton, they are microfiber, so if you are okay with microfiber then you are good to go. The VRBO is on the second floor of an older home and the stairs up are steep and narrow, just something to know if you have issues with stairs. Also, this house is on the Main Street of town, so if road noise bother you when you are trying to sleep, this may not be the place for you. Other than that, the place is adorable and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

I rented this place as a gift to a dear friend. This is such a fun place to stay! The decor is even better in person! There are ample linens available, and the kitchen is also very well stocked. Additionally, the owner is quick to respond and lives a short jog away. What a lovely, lovely place. Great location, price and amenities!

We had a great time. The host was responsive and the place sparkled.But for very minor concerns, this was just what we needed, a reasonably-priced and pleasant base to explore state parks, with comfortable beds and all the amenities we needed. Really a great location, nicely prepared, clean, as advertised.The fifties stuff is cute and consistent, down to a working record player - we listened to some Simon and Garfunkel, which yeah a decade later but... very pleasant, if you don't mind swimming in colors, and quiet at night. Highway 61 drops from heavy traffic to almost nothing late at night, and that proximity was handy for walking to breakfast options and more.My only concerns were (1) some TV remotes (three TVs!) didn't work, but the Roku in the Elvis room worked fine, and (2) the lock to the entry jammed unless I pushed hard at just the right moment. Friction on the latch made it stick. Host Janelle thanked me for the notes, will presumably address those.Again, great place in a great location.

Great time at Twist & Shout!

The theming is very fun! Great location to be able to walk around Two Harbors and explore the North Shore. The beds are incredibly comfortable after a long day of hiking, and the kitchen was fully stocked with anything we could have needed for cooking.

Twist and shout lives up to its name, super fun stay!

Location, location, location! Walkable to all the fun in Two Harbors. Fabulous fun 50s theme space, bedrooms and living space was comfortable and luxurious. We definitely recommend staying here.

Such a unique fun spot

Great little place with super fun decor. Walked to restaurants and bars which was perfect and just a short hop to hiking and shopping. What more could you ask for during a weekend with friends?

Up North

We visited the Duluth area for the 4th of July. We hit some hot spots: Split Rock Lighthouse, Black Beach, Gooseberry Falls, Betty’s Pies, Enger Park and the canal.Relaxed at the Twist and Shout. Enjoyed listening to music provided.Thank you for a great stay.

Local wedding stay

Nicely renovated older home would be nice even if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Nice place to hang out. Centrally located property could walk anywhere in town. Loved the experience.
