Our GARDEN room, with off street parking, is cozy and private, and is in the middle of all the famous attractions that draw people to Newport. You are within walking distance to the beautifully landscaped MANSIONS along BELLEVUE AVENUE. The unmatched beauty of our CLIFF WALK (just 7 minute walk from the house) and our 10 MILE OCEAN DRIVE is breath-taking! Just down the street is a small private beach (also 7 minutes from the house) available to walkers, swimmers and sun bathers. We have always loved Newport and have found it amazingly beautiful, relaxing and exciting. Newport was listed on ABC GOOD MORNING AMERICA as one of the 10 MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES IN AMERICA. You will enjoy watching their news video. The URL for Good Morning America's Video can be found in a Google search using key words "GMA's 10 Most Beautiful Places in America". With a personal kitchen for your use, our GARDEN Room allows you the choice of cooking your own meals or dining out in one of our many wonderful area restaurants. The Garden Room consists of ONE LARGE ROOM with a queen bed, a sitting area, a full bath and a private kitchen. We also have a TV with Dish satellite and digital channels, a DVD player, and a small library. You can hear the ocean waves at night and have views of ALMY POND. This room is rented from March through November.

The BEACH, the CLIFF WALK, the MANSIONS and SALVE REGINA UNIVERSITY CAMPUS are all within two blocks of us. DOWNTOWN NEWPORT is 3/4 mile to the north.
Conveniently located for you to enjoy the summer's annual NEWPORT MUSIC FESTIVAL, NEWPORT JAZZ AND FOLK FESTIVALS. Stay with us, ride bikes and avoid the traffic. Come and surf, swim, fish, bike, paddle board, sail or just relax. Just spending the day sitting on the rocks by the water on the Cliff Walk or Ocean Drive can be a delightfully, relaxing experience.

Enjoy our yard, and sleep peacefully in our quiet location when you return from your escapades each evening.

The host was very knowledgeable and made sure to give out his personal number for any issues we might encounter. He gave us some tips about Newport, which made our stay even better! (Definitely follow his recommendation and go to the French bakery La Bec Sucre - I've been to France, and the pastries and bread there are just like the ones I ate in France. Absolutely delicious!)I would absolutely stay there again!

Great little place - really impressive in the details - Native bath products, super plush Brooks Brothers towels. I think I’m ruined I need to buy some now really nice people. If you’re going there to see the mansions definitely get the individual membership and sign up for as many guided tours as possible they’re amazing and worth every dollar if not three times the cost. Also Uber when you can because parking in town sucks both availability and cost.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Lou gave us excellent recommendations for things to do and restaurants. Excellent location to walk the cliff walk and even walked to a few of the mansion tours. Would highly recommend this cottage.

This is the story of our mom, Marie Puerini. She passed away on December 14, 2017. With deep appreciation and love for her classy style we hope to carry on for her.

Here is her story:
'My sister was many years my senior and was already living in Newport when I was born. Needless to say, Newport was a completely different town when I was growing up; smaller, less inhabited, no tourists, no restaurants, few stores, no style, and lots of handsome Navy men. As a little girl, I came on weekends with my mother and fell in love with the town.

Many years later I bought my first house here, gathered my children and never looked back. My youngest son wanted to open a small restaurant when he was 19 years old, so I left a very successful business and we became partners. That was 36 years ago, and the restaurant, now called Ida's,, became very successful.'

My wife and I moved here in May, 2021. We too love Newport ad we are very excited to live here. We hope you will join us for a while as our guest to give you a chance to fall in love with it too!

What makes this property unique

Our home is on Almy Court, with views from the second floors that encompass Almy Pond. It is a quiet area, lovely for walking. Just a few blocks down is Reject Beach, open to the public. Reject Beach is part of Bailey's Beach, which is a private beach for the 'Summer Set'.
