Guests will enter McDonough's Inn through a private entrance with a secure electronic lock.

Head upstairs to the 2nd floor, and enter your unique door code where keyless access is a breeze! Unit 2 has comfortable furnishings, and offers a king bed, crisp white linens, and plush pillows. Also in the unit, a bistro set is available for extra seating space, yet a perfect dining space for take-out. At the foot of the bed you will find a dedicated work space, for those who need to catch up on work while away. Guests will appreciate having a Coffee maker with local Savannah roasted coffee to get their day started! The ensuite bathroom has been completely remodeled with a large vanity, and a spacious tiled walk-in shower.

Just downstairs, McDonough's offers a full bar and restaurant with karaoke fun for everyone! Also connected, Billy’s Place, is a local restaurant that offers fine dining and a romantic atmosphere.

Chippewa Square boasts the glorious statue of James Edward Oglethorpe, founder of Savannah, Georgia. Walk the brick pathways experiencing history at its finest surrounded by azaleas, live oaks draped in Spanish Moss, and park benches for a relaxing place to take in all Savannah has to offer. Many avenues of shopping, restaurants, pubs, art galleries, and museums are at your fingertips with a location that can’t be beat.

Great place in historic Savannah

Great spot!

The location was great! Easy to get around. Across the street from a square and a theater. Plenty to do in the neighborhood. The room was relatively spacey for the price we paid. Only minor drawback is that it is above a bar and patrons exiting can get a little rowdy! But, if you're one of the patrons, it's easy to get back to your room at the end of the night! :)

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Vacation rental was an apartment above a famous karaoke bar in Savannah, Georgia, where karaoke on weekends does not stop until 3 AM. Just below the bed. You are sleeping on doors. Leading up to room are always unlocked, so employees from the karaoke bar. You can access upstairs for business. So therefore there is no security when entering and leaving the room. You must exit through the karaoke sitting area on the sidewalk and walk through all conversations and people who are drinking. The humidity was SO high inside the room that the sheets on the bed were getting wet. If you are looking for somewhere to party and pass out, this is the perfect spot.

Would stay here again, but room for improvements

First and foremost, I would stay here again. The location was fantastic, just what I wanted. And the shower. It was a 10! However, brcause I want to give the owner a chance to make it even better, I would consider the following: Fix the tv. One channel and only one. The remote as well as changing the channel on the tv didn't work. I understand the reason for no daily service due to covid, it would have been nice to have more than one day's worth of coffee. Also, seeing the reservation was for two, two coffee cups and two wine glasses, instead of one each would have been appreciated. Otherwise, perfect.

Too loud and no amenities

This location is nothing more than a small bedroom and bathroom over a very loud bar. The narrow hallway to the room was full of barstools and tables, making it difficult to get through. The floors were dirty in the hallway and stairwell. Windows were filthy, could barely see through them. The bar stayed open and loud until 4 am, and nothing to insulate the noise from below. I would not recommend this location.

We arrived to find the entry at the back door of a loud bar. Climbed some dirty stairs to a dimly lit and poorly maintained hallway to our room. It was a cold day in Savannah. We were greeted by a huge cockroach and peeling paint in the bathroom only to find that the AC/heater unit did not work. It was about 59 degrees in the room. We called the managers who said they would try to contact the owner who was apparently unavailable. They did not fix the AC that night or on the second day either claiming that the maintenence person was unavailable. Our stay was set for three nights but after the second cold night without heat we abandoned the place and came home from our ruined vacation. I cannot understand how VRBO can represent this place. The cost including fees and all was close to $250 per night. We would have done better staying in a motel near 1-95. We are seeking some sort of compensation or partial refund.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental was in a great location...and the room itself was clean. However, the stairs and hallway leading to room were not clean. Also, this rental is above a bar that stayed open until 3:00 am. The music was extremely loud so it was very difficult to sleep. It only had blinds which allowed the light from the street to pour into the room. It would benefit from blackout curtains and a mini frig.
