Great time. Remote and away from all the craziness of Labor Day weekend.

Our family enjoyed getting out into nature, the amazing views of the mountains and access to the hike behind the property. We definitely plan to return!

We enjoyed having Kaete & her group stay with us. We look forward to having them back again.
Was allowed to check in a little early which helps when your traveling long distance.
Once we figured out the flow of the place was easy to enjoy and really did not have any issues or need anything that was not there for us. Maybe mention that both buildings are included with the Bath House for showering and washing dishes and another beautiful spot to enjoy the view! Loved It to the point where I wish we could do it all over again, even my four hunting friends were impressed and every day mentioning how great a place we found for our hunting trip! Many Thanks Jo, you have a gem of a place. Russ
If you’re looking for a beautiful, remote location to be in the mountains and still have shelter, this is your place. My friends and I stayed here in June ‘23 to get away from the city. The house has everything you need - tons of sleeping areas, kitchen utensils, and a very clean bath house. It has a sense of nostalgia in its presence, like going to summer camp as a kid.
The host/property manager were wonderful and great communicators! There were maps of the surrounding areas with local trails and things to do as well, fire pit/firewood available for use and filled water jugs right next to it. They really thought of everything. I absolutely will be returning to this space in the future it was so lovely and relaxing.
The road to get there is a bit tricky so definitely would recommend a vehicle that sits higher up. Our Subaru made it fine but anything lower would’ve been tricky.
Overall, amazing amazing amazing stay!! You won’t regret booking this!
“Camping” in the Rocky Mountain back country with MOST of the comforts of home
First of all, 360 degrees view of unmatched Rocky Mountain beauty. Second, the seclusion of a back country campsite with most of the comforts of home. Miles and miles of view and not one point of artificial light visible at night. Normally, you would have to hike miles and sleep in a tent to find this kind of beauty and seclusion. Last but not least, an incredibly responsive owner and property manager. We had a maintenance issue and had a repair person standing at the door an hour and a half later. Incredible when you consider where this property is located. (We had decent AT&T cell service and decent internet in the bath house.)
You probably need to be a bit of a camper to fully appreciate what you are getting here. If you are, go here if you get a chance. Yes you will need a high clearance vehicle to get there.
Thank you so much for staying at our ranch. We'd love to have you again. Safe travels.
About the host
Hosted by Jo Reese
I moved to this area several decades ago. I live in Buena Vista, CO, a popular and small mountain town, nestled next to the Continental Divide, at 8000 ft. I rent out my 15-acre ranch, Cottonwood Spirit Ranch, through this site. We have multiple creeks & ponds & lots of wildlife.
I also own Goddard Ranch, which sits on over 100 acres. (This is also rented out through this site.) It's surrounded by 1.2 million acres of public land and many miles of trails for Jeeps, hiking, or horseback riding. This ranch is surrounded by mountains. Our county is comprised of about 85% public land. We enjoy the breathtaking views, elk, deer, moose, and, of course, vast areas of unspoiled terrain.
For fun, I love to enjoy hiking, biking & camping. I also love to ride ATVs, motorcycles, or Jeeps. This works out great for me to rent my properties while I am out doing other things.
