Cottage rental
We visited Amherstburg to spend the New Year holidays with family.
We were happy the host allowed us to bring our furry friend & with prompt responses to any communication we needed to share with the host prior to coming.
Having rented several rental properties we do need to share this property could have been cleaner :(
The grounds have not been raked & the entranceway/ door frame area was covered in leaves, dirt & spider webs.
We noted spider webs inside on lamp shades, in corners of every rooms and on ceilings.
The fridge filter indicator light is showing it needs changing.
The couch springs unfortunately have springs pushing up all cushions rendering them impossible to sit on and my husband thought he was sleeping on what he describes as a trampoline in the second bedroom because the springs and mattress need replacing as do all the pillows.
When I vacuumed the vacuum bag has not been emptied or changed— the dust and odour from the vacuum was very bad.
The washing machine door to allow soap doesn’t open either and so this too was disappointing.
We chose to overlook our concerns and not to contact the host with these and other concerns because we were celebrating the arrival of a new grandchild and really didn’t want to be interrupted with maintenance.
Perhaps (because this unit appears to be more of a seasonal rental) our observations are because it’s winter however knowing when we were arriving we really would have appreciated a cleaner environment.
