Based on needing a place to stay in Mobile the very next night, and not having luck looking for a hotel that fit our need and budget, I figured I'd try VRBO. Discovered this place was available and at a decent one night rate. If I recall correctly, it had five 5-star reviews, so decided to jump on it.
Not quite sure about how it got all 5-star reviews. The place served our purpose but really wasn't our cup of tea. It is over 100 years old and it shows. The photos make it look better than it is. I sense the owner is trying his best to renovate it, and it wasn't bad, but just needs more work to receive 5-star reviews. I sense younger couples would find it more to their liking.
Like staying in someone's home. A treat for lovers of antiques, literature, and art. Good kitchen and unbeatable quiet central location in what must be Mobile's most romantic neighborhood, Washington Square.
The house was perfectly equipped with anything you could need. Loved all of the books. TV was easy to use. Soaked in the bath. Location was right around the corner from Callaghan’s and the park. Restful sleep. Will definitely stay again when I’m Mobile.
Cute house, friendly neighbors and the whole process was super simple. I LOVE the claw foot bathtub too. Location was perfect, about 45 minutes from dauphin island and about an hour to Pensacola so you can really check out the different beaches in the area!
