Charming Yet Wild Cozy Retro Cabin Hot Tub, Sunroom, Fire Pit & Trout! Hiking!
Welcome to Rainbow Cabin #1 — a cozy-yet-bold retreat nestled within Revelle’s River Resort, where rustic charm meets surprising modern flair. This former 1950s schoolhouse has been thoughtfully transformed into a stylish and inviting two-bedroom cabin just steps away from the shimmering Shavers Fork River. Whether you're craving a weekend unplugged, an outdoor adventure, or quality time with your favorite people (or pups), Rainbow Cabin #1 delivers comfort with character.
Historic Roots, Modern Soul From the moment you arrive, you’ll be struck by the unique blend of nostalgic design and updated amenities. The exterior still hints at the building’s schoolhouse past, but step inside and you’re greeted with warm wood paneling, modern fixtures, plush furniture, and thoughtful touches throughout.
Sun-Drenched Sunroom for Soulful Lounging Yes, it’s heated. Yes, it has a TV. And yes, it just might be your favorite spot in the cabin. Sip your morning coffee while ducks and rabbits wander by or stretch out on the cozy couch for a Netflix marathon on a rainy day. The expansive windows in the sunroom bring the outdoors in, offering comfort no matter the season.
Two Bedrooms That Whisper 'Relax ' Both bedrooms feature ultra-cozy queen-size beds, dressed in soft linens with a rustic, cabin-in-the-woods vibe. Warm lighting, vintage-inspired details, and a shared modern bathroom with a shower make this a restful space for everyone.
Living Area: Where Rustic Meets Relaxed Kick back on the queen-size sleeper sofa with a good book or a good movie. The flat-screen TV with cable and the efficient electric pellet stove (pellets included) set the scene for cozy evenings after a day outdoors. Whether you’re binging your favorite shows or catching up on old stories with friends, this space is all about comfort.
Cook Up a Memory in the Kitchen The fully equipped kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, and drip coffee maker — plus all the cookware you’ll need to make a hearty mountain breakfast or a fireside chili. The adjacent dining table is perfect for family dinners or spirited board game nights.
Outdoor Space That Brings People Together Outside, you’ll find your very own charcoal grill, picnic table, and private fire pit. Stargaze by the flames, toast some marshmallows, or enjoy a grilled trout dinner al fresco. Don’t forget the shared hot tub tucked into a screened-in gazebo — perfect for soaking sore hiking muscles or simply melting away stress.

Thank you for your review! We're delighted to hear that our property was perfect for your ride through the mountains. We hope to welcome you back for more adventures soon!
The cabin was just right for us! My sister and her husband as well as myself and my husband and adult son have plenty of room to be clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the heat from the pellet stove and loved the hot tub every evening! Catherine was the best host ever and extremely responsive to our needs and very helpful telling us the going-on of the area. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! You know we will be back!!!
The cabin was very clean. The appliances worked well. The shower was updated. The locations is nearby the river in which you could hear while sitting outside. The campground was 20-50 min drive from most of the places we wanted to see. The town of Elkins is 11 miles away which contains shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. I would definitely stay here again.

thanks so much!! please stay healthy and come back and see us.
We enjoyed our stay.... ate a couple nights/mornings at the cabin. Had a fire the last night & grilled hot dogs ... yummy!! Also roasted veggies & apples in foil.
Cabin was plenty warm enough.
We took the train ride, ate at Scotties diner & Smoke On the Water .... Both were excellent.
We towed our motorcycle to the campground to ride the mountains. It was very beautiful. Plenty of parking. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The cabin was clean, furniture very comfortable. The hot tub was clean and very warm. Fridge and pantry completely empty, which I totally understand. We even needed to get salt and pepper. Over all, we had a great time, no worries!
