Grey's Inn also has 3 open fires, making a winter pint a cosy experience. The Embleton Heritage Trails Project consists of 6 trails to help you explore the history and heritage of the village. On the yellow sand of Embleton Bay near the sand dunes is a large grey rock called 'Bathing Rock'. A little to the northwest of this is the famous 'Vanishing Rock' on which the name 'Andra Barton' is carved. Barton was a Scottish pirate, killed in a sea battle with the English in 1511. Embleton is also within easy reach of other local attractions, such as Alnwick Castle and Dunstanburgh's golf course.
