Always good to get away
Great experience, love being by the water. This was my second stay and this one was just as good as the last one. Great people to rent from.
Suprised and Delighted
Being one who seldom checks their email, Judy's communications with me were decidedly one sided. While this was undoubtedly frustrating for her, she was ever the gracious host, available by phone and helpful whenever needed. I chose this property for the location - close enough to town for food and exploring the community, yet secluded enough for the quiet and privacy I desired. The cabin is full of interesting detail, and the wide windows showcase a sweeping view of the bay. The sheet of instructions - expected for any lodging - were a bit, shall I say... chaotic. It is clear that Judy had - at some time in the past - one of "those guests" who did not treat the property as they should, and the sheet which may at one time have been merely informational, was forced to become instructional. Particularly surprising to me (though perhaps this has become standard?) were the instructions regarding how to get my deposit back; while I certainly endeavor to leave a place in at least the same condition as when I arrived, collecting the linens and starting the laundry took me out of my vacation mindset. A small price to pay, however, for an otherwise delightful time in a cozy cabin at the waters edge. We quite enjoyed our stay here, and I would recommend this to anyone seeking a quiet time away - but not too far away - from the bustle of life.
Hi, thank you for your gracious review. We are pleased you enjoyed the property - and found my communication agreeable! The owners love to read that about me. A note on the "chaotic" instructions - you are right, I pulled them the last time I was in the cabin to re-write them as they were a little outdated. The reason (and yes it's become pretty standard in the industry) we ask that you dump your garbage and start the laundry is this: We are not a hotel and have staff available to clean at all hours. So, it's helpful to have the trash dumped so as not to stink up the place if we are a day or two late in cleaning or food crusted onto the dinnerware. On the other hand, often, quite often, especially at this cabin, guests want to check in early, but the laundry is what holds up up. These new fangled wash machines take FOREVER and thick towels take a long time to dry. We love to give our guests an early check in, but we have to have the place cleaned and ready to go, so getting a jump on the laundry gives us at least a 30 minute jump start. I think you like to write. Me too. Hope to see you again. Best, Judy
time to think
beautiful place to settle the mind
Everything worked great and it was warm and cozy too. thank yoy
Quiet, gorgeous retreat
This was the perfect spot for my son and I to reconnect after his first few weeks of Kindergarten. We looked for crabs on the beach, ate smores, watched the sunset, and spent time at Deception Pass State Park which is about 20 minutes away. The cabin was the perfect size for us and we loved all the little touches that were consistent with the PNW location. It was well equipped and the views were breathtaking. Thank you for a wonderful long weekend - we'll be back!
