Modern and industrial studio apartment in a newly renovated building in the heart of downtown Effingham. Has everything you need for short or longer stays. Located within steps of some of Efffingham's best restaurants and shopping. Come for a night out on the town or a week of work! Efficient cozy and modern loft studio with expansive ceilings. Sleeps four with 1 queen bed and a queen pullout couch. Desk and high speed Internet for anyone who needs to keep hustling while they travel. Pack N Play available upon request. Area and building are super safe both day and night with key fobbed access. **BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS: Our lofts are located above a coworking space in downtown Effingham, ask us about a steeply discounted office pass when you stay with us! Parking lot located in back just steps from the door. Someone will be available to you via phone and in person as necessary during your stay. Let us know how we can help! Very walkable downtown loaded with shops, eats, and good times! Most transportation in Effingham is done via walking or driving, but very driver and walker friendly! This is an old building with no elevator so make sure you're comfortable and able to take the stairs to the second floor.

Nice downtown location
We really enjoyed the location of this rental. It was a safe area with lots of nice restaurants and shops all within walking distance. Folks in town were friendly. Studio loft was just right for the two of us. Had everything you need for a short stay. Can’t beat the price and location compared to the hotels based on what you get here. Would definitely stay again

Lovely renovated apartment in old bank building
Fit my needs perfectly for a one night stay as I travelled from Kansas to Ohio. The restaurant right next door was so convenient for this tired traveler and provided a delicious Caesar salad! The apartment was spotlessly clean with everything I needed. Highly recommend! 😃

Skip the hotels!
I lived in Effingham many years ago and admire the repurposing of one of the lovely downtown buildings. This property is super clean, comfortable and modern with many amenities including a full sized washer and dryer. Hosts are extremely responsive and cordial to your every whim. Check in and out was slick and easy. DO IT!!

We grew up in rural Illinois and now live in Teutopolis, which is a small town next to Effingham. I am deeply passionate about our hometown and the surrounding areas and love to share it with other people. We have incredible people here! As a frequent traveler, I've stayed in more hotels than I care to remember. I started looking for a way to share an authentic experience with people and decided to combine my affinity for hospitality, design, and our town. This location in Effingham doesn't get any better and we pay close attention to every detail to help you have the best stay possible.

Why they chose this property

This building is so cool! It is a old bank built in 1890 that we renovated in 2020. It was our goal to let the history and stories of the old building show through in our re-design and we love the rugged brick and high beamed ceilings. We named it the XCHNG since it was once an "Exchange" of goods and currency, and now it is being utilized as an "Exchange" of ideas, culture, creativity, and authenticity. On the first floor we operate a co-working (community office) space by day, small event venue on the weekends, and are currently in planning stages for a basement bar.
