Details & Things to Do/Attractions: Lake Sara is an 800-acre lake located 4 miles west of the city of Effingham. Lake Sara's attractions include 2 marinas, 2 restaurants: PInky's & Heron Cove, 1 bar- Rusty Reel, an ice cream truck, bait shop, and public beach with playground. The lake offers boating, fishing, swimming, water sports, kayaking, & paddle boarding. Pontoon rentals available both at the marinas and online. Other recreational activities in the area include hiking, biking, golf, hunting, and sledding. The downtown area of Effingham is filled with unique shops & boutiques, local restaurants and cafes.
