Looking for an very nice, upscale home to house a large group of people but you’d like to save a few dollars in the deal? This wonderful duplex has 6 bedrooms and 6 baths on each side. Want more? How about great internet on a wifi mesh network? An EXTRA fridge for all those shrimp and beach beverages? Each beach access and a great price point. What's not to love?
This listing is for ONE SIDE, with 6 bedrooms. For both sides, and 12 bedrooms, see our Casa Playa, East & West listing or just inquire. One side perfect for your group? Book our Casa Playa, East and Casa Playa, West listings for the individual units. Note, there IS a connecting door between the two sides in the living room areas. Like a connecting hotel room, it can be opened if guests rent both sides.

ALL bedrooms have en suite bathrooms with combo shower/tubs. The 2nd Floor LR and Bonus QSS use a common bath separate from that level's bedroom.
BEACH ACCESS
Casa Playa is located on the north side of West Beach Boulevard, directly across the street from the beach and you can see the beach! You have beach access at the 12th (3 mins, < .1 mile!) and 13th street public beaches, PLUS a large pool private to just the guests of Casa Playa. We aren’t talking about blocks to reach the beach, it’s right across the street, .1 miles to the west!
POOL? You bet!
BIG outdoor pool (shared only between the two sides).
PARKING
There is available onsite parking for at least 6 cars per side. More if you park under then home and stack carefully. Just share nice with the neighbors!
WIFI/INTERNET
YES! We have an awesome Eero mesh network to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally solid and ran > 100Mb down the last test--sufficient for several simultaneous video conference sessions for remote work and education. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction!
SOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, ETC ETC
As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have drip coffee makers and most now have Keurigs as well.
No smoking please. No pets.

Why they chose this property
My wife's family have traveled to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Alabama for decades. I became a tag along in the late 1990s, so a Gulf Shores guy by marriage. One thing led to another and we ended up a several large, family-friendly, large group friendly, places along the Gulf.
What makes this property unique
Because sometimes you need more, for less! Casa Playa is located on a prime stretch of West Beach Blvd, but on the beach view side, so it's a lot of home, but for a lot less than beachfront. It is only a short walk to public beach access at 12th street (Google says less than a tenth of a mile, and 3 minutes!). Walk the other way about the same distance and you are at Waves Grocery, as well as a restaurant, ice cream, and more! In season: S&S Seafood is open there too. So convenient! Order up some shrimp, corn, and potatoes steamed (I choose cajun, of course!). The pool is large, and private to the two sides of the home. Nice place. Nice price.
