About this property

Bunnies Beach House, private, borders the reserve

Main house : 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom (sleeps 8)

Sleep out: 2 rooms, 1 bathroom (sleeps 9)
The sleep out can only be rented as an addition to renting the main house, and will be an extra charge. Which will vary depending on numbers.

We are located down the end of a quiet road, right next to the marina. The beach house almost has all the comforts of home. It is a 2 min walk to the harbour/ playground and boat ramp, 5 min walk to town/ wharf and surf beach. Theres room outside for kids to play, car/ boat parking etc.

The marina has now been completed. Next to the bark garden (which belongs to the council) there is a small ditch it only has water in it during heavy rain and very high tides. Please refer to photos for better look. (just wanted to let people know who have small children)
Special conditions:
There is limited bedding and towels, as spares for you. But you will need to be washed and hung out before departure.

Please leave the bach tidy, and remove all rubbish. Cleaners will come in to clean.

Extras: Cleaning (Required, NZ$50.00 per stay); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);

Lots of space for us all, the area for the teenagers was fantastic. Set In a great location, room for the boat and it had everything we needed to relax and have a lovely holiday. Thanks to the owners for their quick and helpful responses.

Fantastic Family Holiday Bach

Larger house than we expected, we didn't realise there was going to be an extra room with beds and a bathroom in the garage, this was perfect for the older kids to hang out in. The bach came with all the essentials, big fridge, good TV with Sky, decent BBQ and close to everything. Although a dishwasher would have been a bonus! Definitely glad we brought the bikes with us. Lots of room to park our cars and even a boat (shame we didn't bring that!) Although turning it around might have been a bit tight. All in all, we had a fantastic, chilled out holiday and would recommend this place, there's room enough for everyone.

She’s a mixed bag!

Our whānau of 5 adults, 2 teens and 2 under 8 stayed for 4 nights. We were totally shocked by the amount of space we had. The back room was a pleasant surprise. Pros: Space, heaps of kitchen utensil’s, parking. Cons: place is run down and needs some TLC (especially the back room bathroom, lots of mold on shower curtain, sink pulling away from the wall etc.) there seems to be a leak from the washing machine or sink area in main house? Recommendations: new shower curtain for back room (2 shop even!) and some cheap easy DIY around the place. Our bins were full prior to us arriving but was sorted with some great communication

There was no water when we got there no instructions on how to turn on. Got hold of owner after an hour. House ok but shower not great mould and could be cleaner. Ants everywhere in kitchen and on couches. Sleep out warned it was tired looking, which would have been ok but felt dirty smelt really musty, stained mattresses. Hot water not turned on so had cold showers.

Exceeded all expectations

This property has it all! We absolutely loved our stay here, the bedding/lounge in the garage was a bonus and was perfect for the kids/teenagers in our group. The main home is fit with all you need, a spacious lounge and accommodated our large group brilliantly. The location was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Great family friendly bach

We had a great stay at Bunnies. We r a family of 6 with 2 teens so having the sleepout for one of them to sleep in was perfect. Bach is really family friendly. We enjoyed being next to the marina, skate park and harbour. Take bikes if u can as it's so easy to bike around everywhere. Also the bach is close to the supermarket which was handy.

Quiet cul de sac and hop skip and a jump to beach

The property is very conveniently located in Whangamata town centre right beside the marina. It is spacious and family friendly. Enough outdoor area for kids to play around. Plenty of space right beside the property along the marina too. They cabin at the back is best suited of someone wants to catch up with that minor work backlog while on a holiday.
