Great place for our family holiday. Great playground close by for the kids and the beach is sheltered. Close to Matakana for amenities and nice cafes/restaurants. Would totally go again!
Was a great place to stay , the hosts were awesome at communicating, nothing was a problem, unfortunately we had to depart earlier than expected due to storm coming in , looking forward to visiting again
Fabulous Bach! Beautiful location! About a 10 minute drive to Matakana for excellent Cafe’s & Restaurants, shops & Grocery store. We look forward to returning!
Lots of extras provided like kayaks, large tv, etc. Felt small in rainy weather but would have been perfect if the sun was shining. Beds were firm but that is a preference thing. Great communication from host and loved the check in/check out times.
We stayed here with our kids 11 years ago and came back to celebrate our 30th anniversary! This is a very special, peaceful place, with plenty to do nearby if you want to go exploring. Thank you - Hopefully we won’t have such a long gap before our next visit!

Yes we love it too for exactly those reasons. Most welcome to come again.
Yes! It is cosy for a winter stay with the heat pump on and looking out a the sea. Thanks for booking and thanks for leaving the place beautifully clean and tidy
Lovely little traditional bach. Undersell and over-deliver type situation. You won't be sorry you booked this place. Stayed with a three year old and an eight month old. Playground across the road, virtually no cars on the road, just us, the birds and the beach. It was lovely. And we saw the kookaburra! The only problem was my baby's penchant for eating the hessian tassles on one of the floor rugs..All-up, the best value for money in the area

Not everyone sees the kookaburra but they and the kaka are commonly heard. Thanks for staying and at least the hessian is organic 😊
We had a fantastic day at the yellow batch. The house is in good condition and was nice and clean. What a suberb position and so close to lots of different activities.
Two days of relaxation with amazing views, lovely Bach, was lovely and quiet.

About the host
Hosted by David Pooch
We live on the North Shore and have five adult children and eight grand children. We have had enormous fun over the years at the bach with the kayaks, fishing, lawn cricket and so on.
Why they chose this property
We bought this place because it was right on the water, level for grand children to play and only an hour from home. We also like the fact that there is lots of bird life there. Tui, wood pigeon, oyster catchers, grey heron, owl and even kookaburra (true, they migrated from Kawau and you can hear them early morning and in the evening). We often hear kaka flying overhead too.
What makes this property unique
Just one hour from Auckand, quiet, on the beach, and a hotspot for bird life. 7 minutes drive to Matakana. Newly renovated, excelllent kitchen and dishwasher, cosy and warm. Children's playground very close by.
