About David Pooch
We live on the North Shore and have five adult children and eight grand children. We have had enormous fun over the years at the bach with the kayaks, fishing, lawn cricket and so on
David Pooch purchased this House in 1988
Why David Pooch chose Tawharanui Peninsula
We bought this place because it was right on the water, level for grand children to play and only an hour from home. We also like the fact that there is lots of bird life there. Tui, wood pigeon, oyster catchers, grey heron, owl and even kookaburra (true, they migrated from Kawau and you can hear them early morning and in the evening). We often hear kaka flying overhead too.
What makes this House unique
7 minutes drive to Matakana. Newly renovated, brand new kitchen and dishwasher, cosy and warm. Children's playground very close by

Loved our short stay. Gorgeous location. Will be
A little hiccup with booking but owner sorted and very accommodating. Would of stayed another night we love it, but sadly booked out for some time.
Perfect location, perfect house just an all round Perfect! Has everything you need for a relaxing holiday, kayaks and canoe added bonus and great communication from owner about where to go with them. Short drive to Goat Island Marine Reserve and Matakana for day trips. Excellent and quick communication from owner. Loved it, thank you!!
Prime beachfront location
Loved our stay at this little Kiwi bach. David was awesome with communication. The bach itself is quite small but has everything you need and is in a prime location. We took the boat and had a great time exploring the harbour, fishing and visiting Mansion House on Kauwau Island.
Front row view of Campbell’s beach just brilliant
A totally relaxed week with loads of activities very close by. Gorgeous scenery. A great Bach with all that you need to chill out. Loved it!
Thanks Katie, delighted you enjoyed your stay and the weather was good too. Cheers
What a stunning spot for a break away!
A great spot for my little family to escape. Brilliant with the playground across the road and the tidal beach. Great for safe swimming and kayaking at high tide and just as great to go exploring at low tide.
Good communication with the owner.
Comfy beds. Good information packs at the house about the local area and information about the house.
Campbell’s Beach was great. You need to check it out!
Lovely clean Bach with fantastic local beaches
We had great communication with the owner throughout the stay. Good price and perfect for us with 2 very comfy queen sized beds and dining and lounge were a good size for the 4 of us. Campbell's beach was a bit windy when we stayed but we visited lots of other beaches and explored the area. A beautiful part of NZ.
