Shepherd House – Ultimate Family Base with Views

Welcome to Shepherd House, a spacious and inviting five-bedroom retreat designed specifically with family gatherings in mind. Located just a short seven-minute stroll from the edge of the iconic Lake Taupo, this home offers the perfect balance of comfort, space, and that classic Kiwi bach charm.

Spread across three bathrooms and five well-appointed bedrooms, there is ample room for the whole family to spread out. The heart of the home is the open-plan living area, featuring a cosy gas fire for those crisp Taupo winters. Large windows frame beautiful views of the lake and mountains.

Tucked away in a separate pool house is a private *geothermal hot pool. It’s a unique, rustic feature perfect for a quiet soak after a day of exploring (please note this is a traditional mineral pool and requires filling before use and is not suitable for small children).

The home has Five bedrooms offering various bedding configurations and three bathrooms.
Bedroom 1: Queen Bed - Includes ensuite
Bedroom 2: Queen Bed
Bedroom 3: 2 Tri Bunk Sets (x2 Doubles at bottom and x2 singles on top, The top bunks are reserved for children only not suitable for adults or toddlers).
Bedroom 4: 2 Single Beds
Bedroom 5: 2 King Single Beds
In addition to the ensuite, 2 more bathrooms complete the easy holiday set up.

This is a modern Kiwi Bach as we know and love, it is a simple and privately owned home, made for families to enjoy and make lasting memories of Great Lake Taupo. For this reason, there may be a level of personal belongings.
It is a family home with bunk beds and has a maximum adult occupancy of 6, with the remaining 4 guests being children. An additional guest surcharge applies for more than 8 people.

NOTE: Under Kiwi Bach tradition you are expected to: Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels) or use our hire service. If you wish to add the linen hire of $17.25 per person, please select this option when booking or let us know in the comments section.
Please note when using the linen hire service, the beds will not be made up.

This property is monitored by METHSMINDER 24/7 through the Vodaphone network for your protection and ours. The monitoring company will respond if meth is detected.

A Quiet Neighborhood: Shepherd House is located in a peaceful residential area. We have a strict no-party policy to respect our neighbours, disruption to them will not be tolerated.

Off-street parking is available for up to four vehicles. To keep the street clear, we ask that all guest vehicles are parked within the property boundaries.
EV Charging: Please note that the property`s electrical infrastructure does not support EV charging.

*The geothermal hot pool is left empty, you will need to fill if you wish to use. Keep an eye on children at all times especially around the pool and ensure people do not put their heads under the water. The pool is not suitable for small children.

When making a booking request please include information on the age range of the guests intending to stay and your plans for while you are in Taupō.

We have a strict no large group or parties policy, disruption to the neighbours will not be tolerated. If we are notified of parties or illegal activity you will be evicted.

You will be required to complete a check in form prior to arrival (excluding identity verified, Airbnb accounts) which will include a copy of your ID and the details of all guests intending to stay at the property. Failure to complete this form will result in the booking being cancelled.

The guest named on the booking is responsible for the property for the duration of the stay and must take all reasonable care of the house. For breakages or damages be aware that you will be charged for the repair or replacement plus a 10% handling fee. It`s your responsibility to familiarise yourself with potential hazards or situations during the stay and take appropriate care or actions if needed.

All properties must be left reasonably clean and tidy, ensuring all furniture and appliances are returned to where they were. A general service clean is included, but if the property requires extra cleaning, you could be charged an additional $50.00 per hour, this includes BBQ’s, excess rubbish, soiled linen and odour removal.

All bookings are accepted on the basis that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions and House Rules.
