Stayed with my adult daughter for a relaxing girls weekend and the Bach had everything that we needed. It is so private, quiet and peaceful. We would love to stay again.
Wonderful bac !! Very spacious, lots of seating inside and out as well as bedding. Has everything you need. Great views and huge deck. Hosts were very easy to deal with and nothing was a problem. We will definitely be back to Ella's :)
Its in a beautiful location with stunning outlook. The heat pump was a problem as it worked fine on first night but wouldn't pump heat on second night.Bianca was very responsive and helpful and we lit fire second night. The winterless northland turned an it's first very chilly night. We had a good weekend.
We stayed at Ella’s over a weekend with my in-laws and our two kids while in the area for a wedding.
The Bach was lovely - much nicer than the photos. Great spot in a quiet street overlooking the estuary but also a short drive to the shops and beach. Very clean and comfortable.
Our second stay at Ella's Estuary and it was just as we remembered. Ideal for families. We could all spread out and have our own space. Views to the estuary while enjoying a beverage on the deck were amazing. The communication with property manager from booking through to check out, was fantastic. Highly recommend the Mangawhai Tavern for lunch and chocolate shots at Bennetts. We will be back!
I was looking for a private sunny location to unwind and thats what Eve's place provided. Altho there are other properties and neighbours while I was there they were un occupied. Sunny propery looking over the estuary. Management were great and the house really tidy. Few too many instructions from rhe owners on how you should leave the place when you depart you are their to unwind and are paying a cleaning fee anyway. Otherwise fantastic option for a weeks getaway, short drive to Mangawhai heads and Bennets chocolate factory in opposite direction, chill out for single or plenty on offer for family and friends.
Great location, loved the views of the estuary. The property had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Loved the variety of games for kids, they came in handy!
One bit of feedback is to put it on the book or make it clearer that you need to switch the fridge on. We didnt realise it was switched off. After we'd been there 24 hours we saw a handwritten note stuck to the wall at the top of the fridge, stating we needed to switch it on. The note had been covered by a box in front of it and we'd had food in the fridge since we arrived.
Apart from that very happy with the property and great communication with the property manager.
Beautiful property, bach stay communication asking for

Nice but a little bit let down
The house itself is good, plenty of room and in a nice location. I was a bit disappointed because the pictures gave the impression that there was water access from the property, which there wasn't.
Appliances and utensils were generally very old, while this is often the case for older style baches it did cause frustration not being able to find a remotely sharp knife.
Our young family recently stayed for 2 nights while visiting family in the area. The accommodation was great - very spacious but comfortable. The weather was cold and raining so we lit up the fireplace which the kids loved.
The booking process and interaction the manager was easy. We would recommend the Ella's retreat for sure
