About this property
Kinloch Lake Front View bach
We have an original small Lockwood , very much a family loved Bach .
There are 3 bedrooms in the house, 2 with queen sized beds and the 3rd smaller bedroom , has a Lakefront view and one single bed.
Sleeps 5 inside Bach and 2 in the bunkhouse .
Bunkhouse is for the Summer only . A queen sized bed . The bunkhouse is very basic and not suitable in the colder months as it is not insulated .
Bunk house has a shower and toilet, washing machine and dryer . And extra fridge .
Dining room table sits about 5 . There is a kitchen island with 3 bar stools . The Bach is not ideal for more than 5 adults but fine for children who are able to go to bunk house. Its a cosy Bach in Winter, with a woodburner and an efficient heat pump .
The bathroom has a bath with a shower over the bath which you have to step into bath to access . The toilet is in the bathroom.
We don't have a regular oven, but a small bench top oven and a convection microwave , electric elements / hob , a selection of eclectic frypans etc. We have quite a selection of pots and pans in general . the Gas bar -b-que is very efficient on the veranda outside the back door . the spare gas bottle is in the garage. Please, notify me, when you feel the gas is getting low or a cylinder needs replacing .
We bought this bach in 1986 , and except for upgrading the kitchen then, it is in its original state ...a real little gem of kiwiana we admit it is a little tired but new carpets and drapes etc are on the agenda . The view and character make it so unique ....
Bach and bunkhouse sleep 6 maximum comfortably .
Kinloch is a very special place. This is the perfect getaway. 20 mins from Taupo.
The hot water is usually on, but if not the switch is in bath room cupboard on arrival.
Please bring your own sheets , towels and pillow cases. Pillows and blankets all there. We have a lovely lady who cleans but not the capacity to wash and dry sheets in a timely manner too provide linen .
This is a family bach , owned by 2 families . We love for it to be enjoyed but please respect it.
Your pet is welcome, but we have restricted our rules to only one Pet being allowed and they must be on a leash when outside. Our property isn't fenced and we have permanent neighbours . Please respect that dogs don't lie on the furniture and their hair is vacuumed away, otherwise we will have no choice but be non Pet friendly .
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
smoking definitely outside only and please dont throw the stubs into the garden or grass
2 night minimum stay .
Please leave the bar b que clean and tidy after use . IF the gas bottle getting low, please notify me. There are spare cylinders in the bunkhouse . And the store has Swap refills .
Rubbish collection is first this Monday morning. There are council bags available from the store if we have run out. They are yellow bags and found under the big tub in the kitchen.
We now have WIFI but ....when on holiday , best to be on holiday !
Extras: Cleaning now included in the tariff but we do expect the bach to be left as you would like to find it . If anything does get broken, please notify me so I can then replace it . We understand that accidents do happen .
PS. I am welcome to discuss pet options . Our section isn't fenced .
PPS Please be MINDFUL that the steps to the Lake are to the left of our Bach .....
There are small signs advising people not to go and stand on the edge of the reserve . There is a steep drop and the cliff could get crumbly . The grass has been grown long ( councils orders ) to prevent people walking to the edge .

About the host
Hosted by Jo Horrocks

Hi , I am Jo and a joint owner of our family Bach . We share it with another family so it is well loved and used and has been in our family of Horrocks since 1986 . The Winlove, our partners , come from Hawkes Bay . In fact, they are our 3rd family of partners . My 2 daughters had the privilege of spending their adolescence and teenage years there life long friends have been made . Memories shared. We live in Tauranga , so I am lucky that i can pop down there regularly to do the garden , water and prune the roses and just have a little respite from real life . And now, the next generation of young are enjoying the pleasures of being there is very much a loved and cherished family spot and we love sharing it with others who have the same values .

Why they chose this property
When we first bought this property , we lived In Reporoa ....I can admit we werent looking to buy any property in 1986 when we were in our 30's ! I can also admit that we were then renting this Bach , had other friends coming to stay , when they arrived the first thing our friend, John said when he leapt out of his car " We have to buy this property " before he even stepped inside .. and thus, we did ...
