This cute bach has recently been renovated for comfort with an authentic twist. The house is ready for a wonderful holiday on stunning Waiheke Island. It has wrap around decks, with large, covered areas, so you can use the bbq anytime. Relax in mid-century style, mixed with contemporary highlights. Curl up on the couch and enjoy the eclectic book collection. Wander down the road to the famous Ostend market on Saturday mornings, walk the new Te Ara Hura walkway which goes straight past the bach, or enjoy some of the neighbourhood cafes. Bring or rent a car or bike for the short trip to any of the beautiful beaches - Palm Beach is only 5 minutes away by car. This is a simple house with a semi-rural outlook. It does not have a sea view, but the closest beach is a 5 minute stroll away. The cottage has its own off-road parking and sits on over half an acre of landscaped grounds, approx 30m from the main residence. A great base for a short stay or extended holiday on the island.
Doing some work on the island? The bach has unlimited free UFB WIFI and we can offer black and white printing if you need it. Reasonable printing charges apply.
We have a simple wall mounted TV with DVD and Chromecast, stream video from your mobile device or laptop, great for personal use, won't overwhelm the lounge.
Available all year round, for short stays and longer holidays. It has been insulated, and we have good heating, extra blankets for cold nights and plenty of hot water bottles to keep your feet warm, but hey we hardly ever get frosty nights on the island.
Special conditions: No fences around the property, may not be suitable for small children.
Extras: Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave;

Friendly but discrete hosts made sure we had everything we needed. Cut little bach, beautifully simple, and with amazing pieces by renown NZ potters. Comfortable beds, quiet location with lovely outlook.
Wonderful bach that had everything we needed. It was handy to everything. Comfy beds & lounge suite. All the retro touches were fun.We loved sitting out on the deck for breakfast & in the evenings when we got back from our adventures.A special mention has to go to Jan & his homemade sourdough bread which was delicious. Thank you very much for sharing your bach with us
Lovely couple hosting, beautiful place, very nostalgic, we had a great time and were very comfortable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a clean affordable bach to stay at on Waiheke
Comfortable, pleasant and clean. Well set up and easy to live in. Our questions were answered promptly and we had no difficulties finding or getting into the property. Good shops and bus stop(s) nearby (10 min walk). I’d be happy to stay there again.
The bach was so cute! Very neat and tidy and had everything we needed. My Mum who was a kid in the 70s loved all of the retro furnishings and decor, such a neat place to stay! Thanks very much for having us, we hope to visit again in the future
We can’t think of a single way this bach could have been better. We loved it. Very comfortable and well provisioned and close to market, shops, water and bus. And lovely generous hosts. Perfect!
Away from the business of Waiheke at the peak season yet only a 10 minute walk to Ostend village and the bus to the beaches, this place was perfect for myself and my mum. Jackie and Jan were lovely hosts offering us homemade bread and the beans growing that they had in abundance. Beds fabulously comfortable. We will definitely stay again.

Very well done retro bach,lots of nice things from 40 years ago.Everything you could need was supplied.
Cute little getaway. Perfect for a few days. Real minor grumbles - theres lots of mozzies (bring mortien and lavender oil), the kettle switch is temperamental and there's no oven. Apart from that we had a great stay.
Beautiful styling of this retro bach! Comfortable and very clean. Not in the most scenic part of Waiheke, but if you don't have a car, only a 10-15 minute walk to bus and supermarket and cafes. Good value.
