About this property
Quiet hill grove casual luxe
Nowadays peaches, olives and strawberries tumble down one of Alexandra's historic sluice race's from the long gone gold mine. There is plenty of sunshine however to give you gold in your tan if not in your pan on this awesome ridge. Orchard Rise falls to a tranquil valley and quiet double glazed and insulated home. It is hard to believe how close it is to the cafes and shops across the river, the willow hung river trail to Clyde, and the duck and wildfowl habitats on the hill. Explore on foot or use the mountain bikes provided to check out the trails of nearby Jolendale park, The Roxburgh Gorge Trail or the Rail Trail. There are many golf courses, motorbike, BMX and mountain biking areas and some lovely swimming spots as well as the local pool and multisports complex. We are two minutes from the Clutha boat ramp and ten minutes from Lake Dunstan and Clyde. Cromwell's historic quarter and Highland Park Raceway is twenty minutes away, Wanaka and Queenstown lakes with their adjacent ski fields within the hour. Trout fishing and historic site Boat Tours are available seasonally and there are movie theatres, museums, art galleries and public library in the local area. There are great art and winery trails nearby and boutique cafes and restaurants to visit in Alex, Clyde and the surrounding countryside. Pick your own cherries or stone fruit at nearby orchards in season or visit a roadside stall for tonight's dinner menu prepared in your spacious kitchen or on the bbq! Visit historic sites or take a day trip to St Bathan's Blue Lakes, the Nevis Valley or Thompsons Gorge. Or not. Day and night you can look out the window at the iconic Alex clock on the hill (and the many stars of our dark southern skies). Put your feet up with a friend, a book, a wine, a movie or a digital device. Welcome to your holiday! This is a lovely 3 bedroom home that looks even better in real life than the photos. Very comfortable. Also has a great view of the hills from the kitchen and lounge

Such a beautiful home, cosy and extremely comfortable. There is no other word to describe it other than PERFECT.
A fabulous property to stay at.Everything you needed was there.Quiet road frontage.Close to town and really comfortable beds.Only bug bear was it was difficult to open and lock the doors.
Really comfortable house, everything you could want was in the kitchen. Beds were very comfortable. Would be more than happy to stay again. Highly recommended.
This was an excellent property to stay at,everything required was in the house , warm and extremely comfortable, would highly recommend to anyone staying in Alexandra
Clean, roomy, warm & toasty when we got the heating on as freezing weather when we arrived. Bed & pillows soooo comfortable which was a blessing with a fractured shoulder. Heidi was very quick with correspondence and very helpful.
Would be a good place to stay if a family or group, especially in summer.
Amenities well thought out that were provided. Quality sheets & towels too. Great having a garage as well. Didn't get to use bikes unfortunately, for obvious reasons.
