Very caring host, giving us good driving instructions ahead of time and a supply of food for breakfast taking in consideration the dietary restrictions of my spouse.
What an incredible stay and views. Wish we had more days so we could have taken the kayaks out. Easy and relaxing surroundings. Well stocked and the courtesy yogurts, milk and fresh baked brownies were awesome!!

Thanks for that, Emerson and thanks for leaving our place so beautifully clean and tidy. I'm glad you enjoyed your time at the lake, come again sometime.
Great experience from the first contact with Geraldine - she clearly enjoys being a welcoming host and that impression was reinforced by the picturesque garden and homely interior of the property, plus the generous and unexpected supplies. Not quite off the grid as you still have wifi and close to Rotorua.
Do yourself a favour and stay here. The location is sublime, there's everything you could need in the cottage, and the host is beyond kind and helpful. Rotorua is an easy drive away (without the crowds and volcanic smells), and it's convenient to a multitude of other ways to while away a relaxing break. We'd happily return.
Generous host. Great communication. Lovely home on edge of lake. Shame it was too wet and windy to fully appreciate kayaks and private beach.

Thanks for your review, Stuart. I'm really happy you enjoyed your stay, it was just a shame the weather was not so great for this time of year. Enjoy the rest of your NZ holiday.
A cosy, comfortable and welcoming property where we felt instantly at ease and at home. The perfect place to come away from the world and
reset. Is definitely on our ' return' list.

Thanks Helen. You'd be welcome to stay again if you are ever back this way.
Geraldine was very welcoming and her home is warm and inviting. We loved the atmosphere of the local artists in the street, the peace of the lake, and the cozines of the fireplace. We found the nearby cafe in Okere Falls perfect for breakfast, and we would definitely come again.

Thanks Summer. I'm really pleased you enjoyed your time at the lake and felt 'the vibe' there. Thanks too for leaving everything so beautifully clean and tidy. I'd be very happy to have you stay again :-)
We absolutely loved our stay at this amazing property! It was such an easy process checking in and getting settled - and was so close to town but also far enough away that we didn’t feel right in town. With no TV as well, it was such a nice and different experience for connecting with each other! We absolutely loved the views, the house and everything to do with this property. Thank you so much again Geraldine for having us - we will definitely be back!

This is a wonderful holiday home. Warm, comfortable and so well appointed with everything you need to enjoy a short break away or an extended holiday. The peace and quiet right on the lake was amazing.
Geraldine is a wonderful host and the maker of the best muffins.
We have no hesitation in highly recommending Wytchwood House to anyone looking for the ideal getaway.

Thanks for your lovely comments, John and Sharon. And thank you for being such considerate guests. Come again sometime.
We spent our last 4 days in New Zealand here, and it was a wonderful, peaceful way to end a busy vacation. We still did activities in and around Rotorua (about a 20-minute drive), but loved coming "home" and relaxing, with the comfortable accommodations and beautiful setting. Beds were comfy, bathroom nice, kitchen with necessary supplies for cooking. Kayaks available for use. Would highly recommend!

Thank you Robyn. It was really interesting connecting with you again and remembering those long ago days :-) You'd be welcome to return sometime.
Geraldine welcomed us with so many lovely touches, we were completely overwhelmed. The cottage was even better than described - beautifully furnished - and surrounded by expertly tended gardens, full of interesting plants and artifacts. Lake Rotorua changed constantly so was great to sit out with a drink and enjoy the peaceful views. Wonderful to be away from the busy town, but it was easy to get to everything we wanted. A very good decision!

Thanks for your lovely review and for the card you left me. I enjoyed chatting with you and I'm glad you had a memorable stay. Best wishes for 2024.
We stayed at Geraldine’s place for two nights in July. When we arrived, she already had a nice fire going for us. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. It’s located opposite city center Rotorua in a charming area with easy access to all the area has to offer. Geraldine is a great host and was very communicative. She even found some gluten free goodies for my sister. Highly recommend!

Thanks Whitney. I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to meet, but I'm glad you both had a good stay at the lake. Safe travels around NZ.
My husband and I are from the U.S. and traveled the South and North islands by car for two weeks. I chose this location because of its location between Rotorua and Hobbiton. This convenient location did not disappoint! Located on a semi-secluded portion of Lake Rotorua, this place was spacious and had all the conveniences of home. Geraldine, the host, connected with me early on and ensured we had everything we needed. I would recommend it for those looking for a lake getaway but still wanting to be close to Rotorua and its activities.

Thanks for your review, Marti and for recommending our place. I'm so pleased you found everything to your liking and that you enjoyed your stay. Best wishes for your return home.
Property was very nice! I do wish I read the property listing a little closer about the heat source being a free-standing fireplace and a space heater. However, it all worked out. Geraldine was very responsive and catered very well to a dietary restriction we had so many thanks for that :) ! Sitting on the deck with a glass of wine and watching the sun go down was awesome!
Had an amazing 3 nights at the Lakeside Bach. What a find. Geraldine was a generous and gracious host. The Bach had breathtaking views and was warm and cozy during my Winter stay. Geraldines recommendations were brilliant as I walked the nearby Okere Falls trail and had a soak in the Waikite Valley Springs hot pools. Both were memorable experiences. All in all an excellent Winter get away, I would imagine the Bach would be sensational all year round.
