Walkers Retreat at Mataikona

Walker's retreat is a great private bach sitting on the beach, this bach is off the grid but still has all the comforts of home with solar power and battery bank, the golf course and Whakataki pub are 15 minutes drive away. Have breakfast in the sun on the front deck over the sea and evening drinks to catch the last of the sun in the evening on the grass area out back.

On chilly evenings the house is very cosy with under floor heating.
Special conditions:
Please take your rubbish with you there is no rubbish collection at this property.

No 240 volt available at property, but heaps of USB outlets for charging phones and tablets.

We had a wonderful time at Walkers Retreat. We had wonderful weather, too. It was wonderful seeing the beach from the lounge and bedroom window. Such a treat. Highly recommend it.

Brilliant location right across the road from the beach. Comfy bed and great setup. Had a few issues with the heating on the first night due to low battery from previous guests which was a bit of a shame, luckily loads of blankets to keep me warm.

The Road access was a bit daunting for the unprepared traveller. Property was awesome comfy, clean and cosy and being so close to the beach was lovely.

Off grid on easy mode (in a good way!)

Awesome little getaway spot. The cabin was well equiped and very cosy. We had a great time just relaxing, exploring the prehistoric coastline, and retreating from our city lives for the weekend. Thank you so much again for having us! Will definitely look to make a return at some point for another break :)
