Nice and comfortable with incredible views over Tryphena harbour
Graham was a great host, he picked us up from the ferry and made sure we had everything we needed. The accommodation is a flat under the main house and has everything a house should have - good shower and kitchen, power, spacious bedroom (with stunning morning views over the harbour) and comfortable seating in the lounge. The big glass sliding doors at the front of the lounge were perfect for watching the night sky in the evenings while being inside with a glass of wine. It is right by the Irish pub and a couple of beautiful beaches. We had a very pleasant swim (even though it was still October). A very pleasant stay, thanks Graham.

Thanks for the stay Malcolm and for leaving the unit so tidy. Pleasure to have you stay and hope to see you again.
Overall, I would not stay there again. The place was dirty, it was obviously that they have not cleaned it for a while. Also, the mattress was super uncomfortable, which was so disappointing after two nights hiking. The location is good, very close to the Irish pub and it has a beautiful ocean view. It just needs a bit of effort to make it more comfortable and clean.
Lovely spot on the ridge over looking Puriri Bay in the Tryphena Harbour.
We enjoyed a very relaxed 5 nights here over New Year, the location is great allowing bush and sea views while still being central enough to easily walk to Gooseberry Flat and Pa Beach along with the store, the cafe and the Currach Irish bar. The accommodation was tidy and comfortable and contained everything we needed including a good fridge and gas oven. Our host Graham was easy to communicate with and on hand if required. The sun hits the back deck in the afternoon where it’s easy to waste away the time looking at the view listening to the glorious birdsong. Thanks for a great stay.

Thanks for the stay, pleasure to meet you both. Hope to see you again.
Well located within Tryphena with Harbour views and store and oub nearby.ub nearby.
A basic apartment which served our needs. Would have been helpful to have hand/bodywash in the bathroom, a toaster or an oven and grill that worked and the toilet needs to be secured to the floor.

Hi John, Thank you for your stay, the oven and grill work fine. I would not have hesitated to show you how to ignite had you asked. As for body wash, this is the Barrier, not the Hyatt. Best regards
Such a great little spot. Stunning views of sunset and so handy to the store, Irish pub for a bite to eat or pa cafe for coffee! Had everything you need in a place and Graeme was a great, chilled host. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Will be back for sure.
Graham was a great host, the unit was clean and tidy with pretty much all you need and awesome views from the deck. We even had the pleasure of having a couple of drinks with Graham, and what a fantastic night it was.
This house was awesome, incredible views, easy to get to lots of different places and beaches on Great Barrier, had everything we needed to make our trip on great barrier lovely, cheers Graham :)
Absolutely adequate accommodation for our purpose.
Nothing flash but quiet, clean with everything we needed for our stay. Top class wifi which was a pleasant surprise. Graham was very sociable, and welcoming. He provided us with garden produce and Hibiscus cuttings which we hope will come to fruition. Would stay there again no problem
Comfortable apartment, excellent location and amazing views with stunning sunset over the water every night. Basic furnishings but had everything we needed for a great stay.
We enjoyed our stay and Graham was most kind, leaving us some coffee and a plunger as we had forgotten ours. Bed was comfortable, neighbourhood quiet, location convenient and views amazing. There is a lovely book on GBI - history, natural history in the living room. To make this a really wonderful place, it needs a thorough cleaning - bathroom, walls, floor, kitchen gear and shelves, living room upholstery. Note there is no microwave (which is fine but I hadn't noticed before I planned my food menus). Bed pillows were soiled and far beyond replacement time, and some crisp newer sheets would be appreciated. Would be nice to see the damaged part of the living room floor fixed or replaced when money/time allows. We would stay again if it was cleaned :)
We had a great stay at Graham's the night before getting the ferry back to Auckland. He was friendly and helpful, and gave us a lift to the wharf. The apartment is well equipped, and has lovely views over the sea.
