About the host

She is an organizational psychologist with a passion for helping leadership create employee centric workplaces that improve the bottom line. Her husband is retired and maintains their rental properties. The entire family enjoys hiking, fishing and volunteering to protect the beautiful world we live in.

Why they chose this property

I grew up in the Northeast Georgia mountains and love camping. The first time I saw the setting of this cabin it was just magical - like having the entire river to myself. It has the secluded feeling of camping with the creature comforts of home. Just step out the door to enjoy fishing or kayaking. You can't see another cabin through the woods. The cabin is wild and rustic. I own four acres on the Chattahoochee river and the lot beside the cabin is uninhabited. It is truly a special place.

As soon as I purchased the property, I started upgrading it inside and planting additional native plants in the woods and areas to protect the riverbanks. Enjoy a walk in the woods to look for native species.

What makes this property unique

The affordable rate for three month rentals of the cabin gives you all the benefits of a buying a river/mountain cabin without the upkeep. It is the perfect spot for retirees who want a private retreat with room to host the grandkids for fun on the river. The close proximity of the cabin to Atlanta makes it ideal for a seasonal rental for a family escape to the county over summer break. The location is central to hiking, boating, rock climbing, antiquing and sightseeing in the North Georgia Mountains.

The cabin rental includes use of a canoe, life vests and paddles. Nearby park facilities enable you to enjoy a day of tubing on the river by dropping off upstream and floating back to your private escape.
