My short getaway was very relaxing, peace and quiet, however, the photos of Ballakup House need to be updated for people who are considering staying there.
A Beautiful property, the layout was great for our extended family. The bush trail right on the back door was perfect for the littlies. The large bathtub was also great to warm up in at the end of the day.
Ballakup house is a lovely place to stay. It is in a beautiful setting surrounded by native bush and has a wonderful outlook out the front. It is very spacious and well appointed. We enjoyed playing games in the evening, it was nice to be off a screen!Jarrahdale has lots of beautiful walks and places to see. It was very easy to communicate with the hosts who replied promptly and were very friendly. They provided a very helpful, interactive email about the house and Jarrahdale. Thanks :)
We stayed at Ballakup for our wedding, so there was plenty of rooms for each of our bridal party to stay in. There was a beautiful large living/dining/kitchen space that was perfect for everyone to spend time in together. It was great having the large patio out the front for our morning coffee and breakfast. We loved how it was separated into two wings with 2 bedrooms in each wing. This made it feel more separate for our friends that were staying. The hosts were very prompt with messaging and responding to any questions were had. There was lots of spare blankets for the cold nights! We can’t wait to spend our anniversary there.
This was such a warm and cosy place to stay with all my friends! We absolutely loved the location, view and space that we were blessed with for the weekend! Thank you for having us and being so generous with all that was provided. So beautiful!

We had such a lovely and relaxing stay at Ballakup House. The home was spacious, peaceful, and beautifully surrounded by nature. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well looked after. We celebrated our son’s birthday here, which made our stay even more special and memorable. Glenn & Lizzie were wonderful hosts, very accommodating and easy to reach out to, which made the whole experience even better. We would happily stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Ballakup House
We're a WA family and we like exploring cycling trails, going on walks with our dog Nora Bone, enjoying the outdoors or just trying to find moments of quiet (which can be a challenge around the children)!!
Hosting gives us an excuse to share our little slice of bushland paradise and convince people that getting lost in the forest is actually a fun adventure!!!!
Why they chose this property
We chose Ballakup House and Jarrahdale because it's the perfect blend of peace , nature and adventure. It's also close to the city so we can get there easily and quickly. Where else can you have kangaroos as neighbours, hike straight from your backyard, and still be close enough to enjoy a great local winery?
It's the kind of place where you can disconnect from the busy world, but reconnect with what really matters - friends and family, fresh air, scenic trails and a great spot to relax after all that 'exploring' (or just pretending to)!!!!
What makes this property unique
It's not just the unique architecture or the serene bushland setting, though those are definite perks! It's the fact that we back directly on to the state forest, with cycling and hiking trails right on our doorstep. A large modern, comfortable home with kangaroos hopping by!!! A perfect mix of tranquillity and adventure and great for the family.
We really do hope you love our home as much as we do. We're so happy to be able to share it with you.
