Had a great stay. Location was excellent, one block to the beach and walking distance to many great restaurants. For being a crowded busy weekend (Labor Day) the place was very quiet and off the beaten path, will definitely return!

Very comfortable bed. Well stocked kitchen. Excellent location with parking for 1 car. The mermaid decor is perfect. Beautiful hardwood floors and a nice deck for drinking your morning coffee.

This is the perfect place for a Monterey get away, so quiet and the perfect location. Beach is a couple minutes walk away. Walking to downtown for meals is easy. The cabin is a perfect size for a couple and has everything you need. We couldn't have found a better place. This will definitely be on our list when we visit monterey area. We were here for Concour d'elegance and found it to be convenient yet off the beaten path away from crowds and noise.

This place was terrific in a wonderful location with an ocean view from the patio. Patio was enclosed, which I appreciate as well as the opportunity to bring my dog. Barry was an excellent host and I would be happy to come back soon. One recommendation is the bedding and pillows are getting a little worn and could use a refresh. Thanks for a wonderful and relaxing getaway.!

We love Pacific Grove and the cosy feel of the Mermaid Retreat. Its location one block from the ocean, close to Lover’s Point is excellent. The owners are helpful and friendly. It is also dog friendly. This was our third stay and we will be back. Thanks, Barry and Elizabeth

Great location, cute little cottage with everything you need. A few quibbles: we got no communication on how to enter on arrival though when we got there it was not an issue but that was anxiety producing nonetheless. A skylight over the bed is not conducive to sleeping-in or afternoon naps, and the Wi-Fi is ok in the bedroom area but weak elsewhere. We really appreciated that the hosts accommodated our dog and the proximity to the Oceanside trail is great for walks!

what a great stay. The house was well stocked and the location was incredible. We enjoyed our daily walks along the beach looking for sea otters and other animals. Barry was a very responsive host. We look forward to our next visit
