Enjoyed our stay, great location near the beach. It’s a cool Bach surrounded by beautiful gardens. Communication with the host was good, and easy to follow instructions for the property.
Loved the property overall, was slightly disappointed by the listing saying they have a spa pool as it is just a bath run you have to heat. Was still worth it just a longer process to use the tub.
This property is as far North as you can drive in the Sounds and a classic kiwi batch with a wonderful garden and what is amazing location but....5 days in to our stay (2 families) the troubles started. We lost hot water due to a fault with the gas system. Though the owners were contactable being 2.5 hours from anywhere no help was able to arranged (time of year didnt help). There is a 2nd option to have hot showers in the very outdated sleepout but this too was a past its use by date gas system. With 8 people the solar system could not handle the use and was very problematic in the final days (lost power). Again owners responded but no solutions. It should be note access to the property is a challage if towing a boat (in and out). Our advice curb your expectations here as it needing some TLC but has lots of potential.

Great rustic getaway
Enjoyed our stay at this bach; great communication with the hosts; a rustic Kiwi bach with good access to the kayaks, life jackets and easy access to the beach. The gardens were great and the birdsong in the morning and evening was spectacular.Outdoor spaces were lovely and it was lovely to have the use of the picnic tables for outdoor entertaining.Good solar and gas supplies for our hot water and cooking facilities.Unfortunately the previous guests who had just checked out had left their rubbish at the bach so that ended up being a bit smelly.Luckily the weather was fine and it was easy to accommodate our group of 10 outside mainly for dining. It might have been a bit difficult if it had been raining most of the time. All in all we had a lovely time.
