About this property
Lakefront Cabin Inside Olympic National Park
The Eagle's Rest is a lakefront cabin located on the north shore of the Lake Quinault inside the Olympic National Park. It offers 180 degree breathtaking view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Among the many things to do around here, here are few popular options. In the morning or when sun comes out after the rain, watch the misty cloud rises slowly above the lake and the forest behind it. During the daytime, there are plenty of activities to do like hiking the rain forest trails, canoeing on the lake, and wildlife watching. In the evening, set up a campfire right next to the lake and share stories with family and friends.

Overall the cabin was a really nice place for a weekend at the lake. It had pretty much everything you need to enjoy the lakefront: grill, canoe, large porch to enjoy the view.
Check in went fine, except Verbo never contacted us with the check-in information – I had to get it from the owner

Perfect Lake Location
This property is perfect for a lake vacation. We would like to come back for a longer stay and enjoy the lake. We were there for the National Park so did not get to spend much time at the house. It was perfect for two couples. We each hadnour own bedroom and bathroom. Place was well stockdd and peaceful. Not the cleansst place but typical for a lake cottage.
House was dirty. The outside seating was very uncomfortable. Had a very musty smell. Washer flooded all over the floor… twice. And this was after the manager/owner said it was fixed but then texted a day later to not use the machine. There were cobwebs and mouse droppings in drawer. Very disappointed but the view was great. Would stay elsewhere for the view next time. The garage was the biggest mess I’ve ever seen and smelled that ran throughout the house. New fridge and dishwasher. Windows were filthy.
The house is comfy, the view impressive, and the location is perfect for multiple national park activities. The deck alone is worth the entire property!
The beauty of the mountains, the quiet of the lake, the coziness of the cabin….couldnt ask for a nicer stay on labor day long weekend. Looking forward to our next visit!
Perfect location for a home base to explore Lake Quinault
Nice house with an excellent deck for lake play and relaxing family time. Plenty of room for folks to chill inside. Very peaceful area and several nice spots to visit and some excellent restaurants to sample.
Loved this property, great location and perfect for pets. It rained the entire time and had a power outage but the property was well layed out and open floor plan so plenty of space. Very nice hiking trails close by.
Beautiful scenery, comfortable living arrangements
The house expanded perfectly for our group. We love the multiple porches and dock. We used the canoes every day and watched the stars at night from the dock.
Spacious property with wonderfully wide porches and easy access to the lake. We loved the firepit, all set up for us to light! Kitchen had everything we needed.
This was exactly what our family was looking for! Amazing location, the lake view from the deck was breathtaking. The house itself is rustic but functional and clean. It has all the essentials and the location close to the Pacific Ocean and the park destinations were exactly what we needed.
Our only hiccup was a brief loss of power to the area one afternoon but the owner was prompt with communication via text and the power was restored quickly by local utility crews.
Or family (Grandkids, Parents and Grandparents) had a mini-spring break at this cute little cabin. There was plenty of room for the six of us, access to the lake was wonderful and the canoes were an added bonus. Thank you.
You can see the lake from almost every window. The decks and fire pit area were beautiful. We loved being so close to all of the South West parts of Olympic National Park. Quinault Village is very close and worth the trip. Easy Drive to the beaches and Hoh Rain forest.
The house had plenty of blankets and the beds were comfy. The kitchen had all the necessities a microwave, cookware, drip coffee maker, and a Keurig-style coffee maker. Lots of DVDs to choose from. The house had everything we needed and we would happily stay here again.

False hope
A very poor place to stay. The house was put together by someone who knew
nothing about construction. Shower terrible with no soap or shampoo. Fixtures leaked. Only good thing was the view.

Disappointed
This sadly is a very neglected property. The improvements that have been made have been done incorrectly. The new shower door does not close and the water floods the floor.
There is a vine from outside that has grown under one of the newer windows and is now growing inside the house behind the coach.
There appears to be a water leak under the kitchen sink.
All of the windows are very dirty, several without screens.
Mold in the bedroom with the twin beds.
Kitchen cabinets are dirty inside and out.
There is much debris in the yard. All the deck furniture has peeling paint and the umbrellas are broken.
This is a beautiful location on the lake and we were sad to see such a neglected house.
First I will say that the location and views are great and some of the issues that others have complained about in the past appear to have been addressed. The bathrooms appear to be newly remodeled, but shower glass enclosure is coming out of the frame and may fall. The water runs down the glass and onto the floor. In that bathroom the toilet flush handle came off. In the other bathroom, the hot and cold water are reversed at the sink. The entire house had a strong mildew smell. I believe that every building code in the country requires that doors between a living space and a garage be either solid wood or metal. This home has 2 doors that do not meet this requirement, one of which is between the garage and the king bedroom. In addition, these doors are not sealed and there was an overwhelming odor going through the doors from the garage into the house. The coffee maker had old coffee grounds in it. There was what appeared to be a blood stain on one of the pillows in the queen bedroom.

This vacation rental is in a 5 star location with 2 star accommodations.
The view from the property is gorgeous, it has ready access for swimming in the lake and there are fabulous hiking trails just a short drive away, all this can make it a wonderful vacation spot. The house was supplied with ample dishes, cookware and utensils, with new counters and cabinets. The 2 bathrooms had new fixtures though I wonder how a licensed plumber could have installed the faucets with the hot on the right and the cold on the left. That being said there are some serious shortcomings to consider. There was mold in the back bedroom off the garage that made us wheezy after a short time laying in bed in that room, fortunately we were not needing all the bedrooms. There was a lack of screens on the kids’ bedroom windows so you wouldn’t want to open them, a problem when the temp went over 80 degrees. The main access to the outdoors was through sliding doors with screens that were woefully inadequate since they constantly jammed up in their tracks. Most seriously however was the lack of CO-2 and smoke detectors, I only found one working detector and 2 of the 3 bedrooms didn’t have them at all (a code violation?). This is a rental unit with a gas heater and thus potential for CO-2 build up, not a good situation with a fall/winter rental. The house was clean, however we found broken glass in the rug in the kids bedroom when my grand daughter stepped on it, made you think that adequate time was not taken vacuuming the bedrooms. This looks like an old rambling lake front cabin that had been added onto over the years in a haphazard fashion and the owner has tried to bring it up to modern standards but with a very tight budget. If the owner could bring the house up to code with the smoke/CO-2 detectors, remediate the mold problem and fix the screen doors it would not give it a 5 star rating but would certainly make it a nice place to spend a week at the lake.
BTW – there’s a Zenon light outside over the garage that hums (whines) loudly 24/7. Its greatest impact is on those staying in the adjacent kids’ room but since we couldn’t open the windows and had to have the fans running on high the problem was somewhat mitigated. It would be nice to be able to turn that light off.

We are relative new and are learning how to manage vacation properties. Please keep in mind that this is an older cabin, not a five star hotel and we would like to keep it that way. Due to its remote location, it may take time to find someone to do repairs. Please let us know how to make your stay more enjoyable. . Thank you for your patience.
