The house was spacious, well-appointed and very quiet. The main problem for us was that there was no Wi-Fi. This surprised us. There was a smart TV, but we could not stream anything because there was no Wi-Fi. Also, the cellular signal was very weak (we use Koodo/Telus). My husband could not complete some work he wanted to do because of the lack of Wi-Fi. The very weak cellular signal meant he could not hotspot off his phone either. We enjoyed using the barbeque and the fire pit.

We are sorry that the wifi was such an issue. We have looked into rogers and bell, and they haven't been able to help us. We may have to look into starlink if it is an issue with more travelers.
We had a lovely stay at The Pug House with 7 people and 3 dogs — the cottage was clean, well-equipped, and the partially enclosed yard was a nice bonus for our pets. While the fenced-in area is on the smaller side and doesn’t cover the full yard, it was still helpful for letting the dogs out safely. The space overall was manageable for our group, though it would be more comfortable for 4–6 people, as the common areas got a bit tight. The main bedroom lacked blinds on the large window, so we were woken early by the sunlight, and unfortunately, we didn’t see the kayak mentioned in the listing. We arrived after a rainfall, so there were quite a few mosquitoes and flies, which is expected in a lakeside setting. The dock doesn’t extend very far into the lake, and while it looks like vegetation around the water had been cleared at some point, it was growing back, making it difficult to get in for a swim. Additionally, the stairs down to the dock were not in great shape and didn’t feel very safe to use. Overall, it’s a great spot for a quiet, pet-friendly getaway with thoughtful amenities and a beautiful location — just a few small improvements would make it perfect.

Thanks for the review. You were are first rental. We will have to get some blinds for that window. Sorry you missed the kayaks, I will do better next time in explaining to people where they are. There were 2 green ones beside the shed. I have hired someone to clean the weedy shoreline. They can't come until the middle of July due to spawning. A new stairway will have to be my next project.

We are excited and nervous about this next stage in our life, renting out our cottage when we aren't there.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property because of the seclusion and closeness to everything. Private road on dead end street. Ten or 15 minutes to everything, groceries, tim hortons, lcbo, clinics, restaurants. Half hour to Belleville with malls and hospital.
What makes this property unique
We renovated this cottage to be our retirement home. It has everything you need to live year round with the excitement of a cottage.
