Historic Character Home 8 minutes from City Centre

Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review. We're glad your family enjoyed the fish tanks, appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, and found the washer and dryer useful during your stay. A few of your comments did leave us scratching our heads a little. The "eclectic" décor is, in fact, one of the things our guests most frequently compliment. This is our family home, not a hotel, and we've intentionally created a space with character rather than a cookie-cutter vacation rental. Fortunately, most guests see that as part of the experience. Regarding the clawfoot tub, the two shower heads are there by design. Many guests have specifically commented on how much they enjoy them, especially for families. Like most clawfoot tubs, the shower is enclosed with curtains rather than glass, which is standard for this style of tub. We haven't previously had guests find the setup confusing, but we appreciate that everyone's experiences differ. We were also surprised by the comment about needing a larger pot. The kitchen is stocked with multiple large stock pots, including an oversized one stored above the refrigerator that's capable of cooking for a very large group. Had you let us know during your stay, we would have been happy to point you to it. As for recycling, we always welcome suggestions for making our instructions even clearer. That said, during your stay you mentioned that recycling wasn't something you were familiar with, so we were happy to help answer your questions. Finally, you're absolutely right, we're not the Hilton, nor are we trying to be. Hotels and family homes offer very different experiences. What we offer is a spacious, lived-in character home close to downtown, in a beautiful neighbourhood with a fully equipped kitchen, unique features, comfortable spaces for families, and personal touches that simply aren't found in a standard hotel room.
