About this property
Elegant 3-bedroom home with private beach, wharf & stage
Meticulously designed with cozy, grandeur and charm in mind, First Flight house is one of two @warblerstrinity homes on five acres of private beachfront overlooking historic Trinity, Fort Point Lighthouse and the famous Skerwink Trail.
Proudly one of eleven boutique and luxury hotels in Canada recognized by the Mr. & Mrs. Smith collection, we are a place you may never wish to leave and will long to visit again and again. We're now happy to enable VRBO guests to book directly through this platform.
On the second floor is the primary bedroom with a luxurious bathroom - oversized tub and walk-in shower, all off a TV and ready area that overlooks Trinity. On the main floor are two bedrooms - one with a cozy king-size bed, and the other a charming queen-size bedroom with a shared bathroom featuring a walk-in shower.
The chef's kitchen beckons culinary creativity, while others pour you wine around the entertainment island.
Choose to eat from one of the two distinct dining areas - whether it's the not-so-formal 8-person dining table just off the kitchen overlooking the living area and fireplace, or the 10-person harvest table in the sunroom.
Breakfast in one. Dinners in another? Either way, plan intimate meals or festive gatherings with friends.
The magnificent 22-foot fireplace was the starting point for designing the house. It is the heart, casting a warm glow across the room.
Just adjacent is the nook looking over to Trinity. Enjoy coffee, wine, a good book or watch the lighthouse, Skerwink and Trinity before a snooze.
Head downstairs to listen to records while you challenge loved ones to a friendly game of pool.
Enjoy the many outdoor spaces - sharing stories on the expansive front deck or seeking shelter on the covered deck during a gentle summer rain; First Flight wraps you in its embrace, promising moments of connection and joy.
And let’s not forget, meander down and along the private beach, open the doors of the stage - enjoying an afternoon coffee, beer or glass of wine in the stage or on the wharf. And in the evenings, sit by one of the two campfires or propane fires under the covered porch.
Located in historic Trinity, guests have front-row seats to one of Newfoundland's most picturesque harbours, with easy access to both Trinity and Bonavista Bay’s rich heritage and natural beauty.

About the host
Hosted by Amanda Mitchell

Our mission at Warblers at Trinity is to create a time-suspending destination where guests can slow down, reset, and experience true discovery and pure joy. Intentionally designed accommodations amidst the beautiful natural wonders of Newfoundland—a place you may never wish to leave and will long to visit again and again.
After hosting guests for over 16 years at our custom-built log cabin in Haliburton, Ontario, in 2021, we pondered making a change and moving to Newfoundland. As soon as we stepped onto the shores overlooking the picturesque town of Trinity, we knew we had found the ideal place to enjoy ourselves while playing host to you.
The name Warblers at Trinity celebrates the journey—from one side of the country to the other, just like the small yellow bird that migrates here every year. You can hear them singing in the summertime, their songs blending with the wind and sea. For us, they’re a symbol of joy, curiousity, and finding your place in the world.
Like the yellow warbler, we made a similar journey, leaving behind our lives in Ontario to start fresh on the eastern edge of Canada. In May 2022, we arrived in Trinity, inspired by the natural beauty and quiet pace of life here.
We’ve always loved to travel—especially to France (where the best antique markets are) and Britain (where Amanda’s family is from). Finding the perfect place to stay has become something of an obsession. We’re always on the hunt for beautiful spaces that feel special but are still accessible—places with charm, comfort, and thoughtful design. That mindset shaped everything we’ve done here.
Each home reflects a balance of old and new: antiques collected from our travels, art by local artists (including Amanda’s father), and modern amenities that make your stay easy and relaxing.
Whether you’re looking for quiet time, a bit of adventure, or something uniquely local, we want you to feel at home and believe you will wish to return, time and time again.
