About the host
Hosted by Preeti Sharma
Hi, we’re Preeti and Kyle! We’re your hosts at Rush Gully. Kyle is a local—born and raised in Orange—and I’ve called Australia home for many years now. We’ve both been lucky enough to travel the world, but there’s something truly special about the peaceful bushland and wide open skies right here at home.
We love hosting because it gives us the chance to share the kind of experience we value when we travel—comfort, thoughtfulness, and a little magic in nature. Whether you're here to unwind, explore wineries, or stargaze by the fire, we hope Rush Gully gives you the break you need.
We’re always just a message away if you need anything!

Why they chose this property
We chose this area because it’s steeped in history and surrounded by nature. The property itself has a unique past—it was originally a simple hut used by early Chinese prospectors who came to the Ophir region during the gold rush. You can still feel a sense of that pioneering spirit in the land.
What we love most is the natural beauty: the peaceful sound of the creek running through the gully, the native bush that surrounds you, and the wildlife that visits daily—kangaroos, echidnas, and all kinds of birds. There’s a deep sense of calm and connection to both history and nature here, and we’re so happy to be able to share that with our guests.

What makes this property unique
What makes Rush Gully truly unique is its character and setting. The log cabin is one of a kind—crafted from beautiful cedar wood, it blends rustic charm with cosy comfort. You won’t find another quite like it in the region.
Out the front, there’s a lovingly tended English garden that greets you with colour and fragrance in every season. And just beyond, you're surrounded by the Australian wilderness—peaceful, untouched, and full of life. It’s the perfect balance of cultivated beauty and natural serenity, offering guests a quiet retreat that feels both magical and grounded in history.
