About this property
Cozy 125 year old home in the County - Min 30 days
he house is over 125 years old, and you can feel its history in the creaky floorboards, wide baseboards, and the way the light pours into the sunroom each morning. Nothing’s too precious here—just layered, lived-in, and full of little things collected over time. It’s vintage, a bit eclectic, and always cozy.
There’s room to spread out—three bedrooms (two queens and a sweet single) and a couple of couches for overflow (*not pullout), 2.5 bathrooms, a generous kitchen where everyone always seems to gather, and a sunroom with expandable dining table. In winter, we curl up by the gas fireplace with wine and a good book. In warmer months, the back garden becomes the heart of everything—coffee overlooking the garden, late-night chats under the stars, around the propane fire pit.
There’s something about Picton that just gets under your skin—in the best way. Our house sits right in the middle of it all: close enough to wander into town for a morning coffee or stumble home from live music and late-night cocktails, but still peaceful enough to hear the crickets at night. Just around the corner, there’s a big park with walking trails, play structures, and the best toboggan hill when the snow hits.
What we love most about the County is the mix of it all—lazy days at the beach, balanced with spontaneous adventures to wineries, farm stands, or those winding backroads that always lead to something unexpected. Some weekends are for paddling and exploring. Others are for reading in the sunroom or slowly cooking dinner with friends in the big old kitchen.
Picton has everything you need, and the rest of the County has everything you didn’t know you were looking for. It’s a place that invites you to slow down, breathe deeper, and maybe even stay a little longer than planned.
Within walking distance of our house, there are several great restaurants, pubs, shops, and art galleries. Take a drive around the county to find world class wineries, micro-breweries, the world famous sandbanks national Park, multiple beaches, a few small museums, farmers markets, music venues and even some farms with horses, llamas, and honeybees.
