This was a very cute cottage, nicely decorated and we were happy it was pet friendly. The lake was just steps away from the cottage and there was a nice place to sit under the trees if you chose not to go in the water. The water was warm, and shallow which made it nice for walking in. The road was quiet so it was nice to take walks in the morning and evening. The only thing I would change is the Tassimo coffee maker. Before we came we were unable to find Tassimo coffee anywhere, but once we arrived, our host directed us to Foodland in Brechin which had 2 bags left. I would have preferred a Kurieg. The beds were comfortable and the shower had excellent water pressure. The air conditioners in each room struggled to keep us cool during this very hot week. All in all, it was a nice place.

Hello Linda. We really appreciate you choosing our cottage and are glad you enjoyed your stay. It was extreme heat this past week so I’m glad we had a/c in each room. Thankfully things are getting back to normal seasonal temps! We hope you have a wonderful summer!

About the host

Hosted by Gord Semple

Host profile image
Gord and Karen have been cottage goer for more than 40 years ago. We started hosting with AirBnB last year and just this year with Virbo. The experience has been so heartfelt. The people we have met, and the gratitude we have been shown has been inspiring. We have so love to share this place we have enjoyed for years creating memories.

Why they chose this property

The best part of cottage life is the instant relief I get when I arrive. The city hustle is left behind and the view out to the lake totally relaxes my mind.

What makes this property unique

The standout feature is the private sandy beach and sand bar. Much of lake simcoe is rocky making swimming a little more challenging. This location is sandy and ideal for wading and floating and cooling off on hot summer days. The sandbar provides wave protection and therefore warmer waters. The shallow water often freezes early making the lake freeze smooth for skating.
