I can't recommend this apartment to other VRBO users, and as such, I would rate this experience as a 1 star.As an explanation for our rating, our family was unable to use the apartment for the dates in which we reserved because of unexpected travel visa and entry restrictions. Although we notified the owner and explained the circumstances, they declined to demonstrate compassion to our situation and would not entertain any refund, even in response to our offer to pay 50%.We understand that accommodation hosts may have cancellation policies to follow, but their response showed no flexibility or consideration for an exceptional, and very stressful, situation for our family. Keeping the full payment for a stay that could not take place was deeply disappointing. I would strongly recommend any prospective users of this apartment to find another option for their potential stay in Rio.
