The Lazy Cabin is a great place to stay with ready access to walking trails and the Gatineau park. It is close to Le Nordik spa and other essentials. The place is a quirky cabin with decorations from around the world. The place has 5 beds and 3 of which are open concept without doors (good to know for noise sensitive people) and one is accessible only by steep ladder (good to know for elderly). The kitchen and bbq amenities are excellent and it was perfect for our friend retreat. The water comes out of the tap with a brown colour so we brought in our own water which was easy to do. Overall, it was a unique stay and gorgeous in the fall with the coloured leaves and full moon.
We enjoyed our long weekend at Greg’s cozy cabin. It is clean, the beds were all comfortable and the place is full of character. Plus, the location can’t be beat. Just 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa, yet you feel like you are in cottage country. We enjoyed the waterfront, and the proximity to good hiking in Gatineau Park. There were a few things that I wished I understood while booking, however. Of the bedrooms, only 3 were private. The bunk bed (note it sleeps 1 person) is open to the living area. Likewise the double bed is open to the living area, but has a curtain you can close for privacy. With respect to the private bedrooms, you have to climb a ladder to get to one of them, while for another there is a steep spiral staircase. My kids were excited by these rooms, but they would not be appealing to anyone who is worried about descending stairs/ladders at night to go to the washroom. Overall, it was an excellent stay and we would recommend Greg’s cottage.
Our stay at the Lazy Cabin was absolutely incredible! This beautiful log cabin is the perfect mix of a cozy, rustic sanctuary and a well-equipped modern getaway. The location is unbeatable—you feel like you're deep in the peaceful wilderness, looking out the windows at nothing but woods and river, yet it’s just an easy drive to Gatineau Park trails, the Nordik Spa, cute villages like Old Chelsea or Wakefield, and downtown Ottawa’s byward market is super close! The cabin itself has so much unique character. It’s wonderfully comfortable and filled with fascinating travel memorabilia, masks, and books that make exploring the house like visiting a wee boutique museum experience. The kitchen has everything you could need, and the gorgeous indoor wood stove, board games, and cozy loft bedrooms made our evening so relaxing.Greg is an outstanding host—super responsive, accommodating, and provided great local recommendations to ensure we had a perfect trip.
This cabin is top tier! The perfect place to be cozy and relax with family and/or friends, the waterfront is special and you’ll find yourself spending the entire day there.
