Cosy Miners Cottage Castlemaine. Walkable, fireplace, bath, cooking
Hello! Welcome to The Miners Daughter.
@theminersdaughter_castlemaine
A cosy hideaway walkable to the main street. You’re simultaneously tucked away and in-the-thick-of-it.
The main cottage is over 120 years old while the fireplace is much older - it was the only solid structure surrounded by a miner’s tent.
Great ways to enjoy the cottage:
-A glass of Boomtown wine (with ice, sorry!) under the plum tree.
-Sinking in to the velvet armchair.
-A sunset walk home from Love Shack after a couple of Pale Ales
-A vintage film at the Theatre Royale.
-Doing a work day without any fluorescent lights.
-Knock-off drinks with Bonnie & Clyde, the resident Cockatoos.
The nitty gritty:
Amazing split system air-con/heating
Two fireplaces (!)
Well-stocked cook's kitchen.
Hanging space in both bedrooms.
Cosy, comfortable beds.
Small (but effective) desk space.
Bath (separate to toilet).
Unfortunately, the cottage cannot accommodate children.
Dogs:
Dogs are welcome. The yard is not fully fenced. Please message so we can make sure your dog’s stay enjoyable, and we protect the resident wildlife. Note there is a $50 surcharge applied to the booking.
Location:
Walkable to the centre of Castlemaine for a pint at Love Shack, A Spritz out the front of the Theatre Royal, or a stroll down Mostyn Street shops.
Accessibility: Note there is a couple of small steps on entry and within the house. Shower is over bath. Parking is in the cul-de-sac approx. 20m from the cottage.
There’s the odd quirk and wonky floorboard - as with any 120-year-old, she has a wrinkle or two, I think it’s part of her charm.
