Very impressive location! The property is clean, with themed decor, is close to the beach, and is quiet. It can accommodate two couples very comfortably. Excellent for a getaway in Shelter Cove
We enjoyed our stay in Shelter Cove. The weather was mixed with a full day of pouring rain and because we only had three nights it did not give us enough time to really explore Shelter Cove which is a lovely part of coastal California. We were glad that we only planned one day away from the cove to go up to Humboldt State Park. Keep in mind that the ride out and back totals an hour and a half of driving. Once you’re out, Humboldt is a short drive. Because of the weather we really could not properly enjoy the beach but did get an opportunity to explore the harbor and the lighthouse which is a lovely spot. Be prepared with your own provisions because there are limited possibilities available. The house was comfortable and relaxing to spend a rainy day. The living room with its comfortable furniture and cozy stove made the day relaxing . I did try to reach out to Shawna with some inquiries when we were in shelter Cove but alas no response. If you’re looking to stay in one area without the need to drive out and you don’t mind really curves roads, this is a lovely spot.
My husband and I stayed here for a couple days to unwind. Great views, fun to watch the planes on the runway, and close to the brewery. You definitely feel like you are at the end of the world here!
Beautiful and very clean home. Perfect for a little get away. I wasn't prepared for the long and very windy road to get there but the house and the beautiful view definitely made up for it. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back someday!
Amazing views from this secluded and cozy Shelter Cove location. The deck chairs were the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the scenery and sunset. We did not want to leave, definitely would stay here again. Thank you Shannah!
Isolated, multiple gorgeous beaches within 10 minutes walking. You can hear the waves crashing on rocks from the home which is extremely relaxing. The general store and a couple of restaurants are surprisingly great. Just be aware there is a steep, winding road to get in and out that takes about 45 minutes. Was worth it in my opinion.
We decided to rent a place for our Thanksgiving weekend. It couldn’t have been better. Views from the home are spectacular and a 10 minute walk to the beach. We also enjoyed watching the deer who seemed to love to rest on the grass next door. Many wonderful memories!
My husband and I and our dog enjoyed a great weekend here. The view was lovely, and the bed was extremely comfortable. It was nice to have the Keurig and complimentary coffee provided. The house, while not big, was the perfect size (would be great for two couples as well). Our dog was in heaven, walking along the air strip and public golf course area, as well as the ocean and hiking trails.
Perfect place for us to stop and relax for a few days on our trip up the coast. Great ocean views from all rooms and we loved spending time on the deck. We had 2 couples and we had more than enough space plus the added bonus of each having our own en-suite. Close walk or drive to the ocean. Place was easy to find…off the beaten path a ways but that’s exactly what we were looking for. Thanks for the all the new memories!
My friends and I wanted to take a weekend together to relax and reset before the semester started, and this house was PERFECT for that. It's so comfy and filled with thoughtful touches like baskets of throw blankets and pillows and a full kitchen. The view is stunning; you wake up in a a literal cloud and then the fog burns off and suddenly BLAM there's the ocean. The space and the neighborhood are magical and I will definitely be back.
Our family really enjoyed this cottage overlooking the town of Shelter Cove and the Pacific Ocean! What a treat to watch the sun (and moon) set over the ocean.
The owner was very easy to communicate with and worked around our family's schedule. Obviously they are investing in the house - new kitchen appliances, new couch, etc. Several extras like washer/dryer, comfy deck chairs, wifi and a bluetooth speaker made it very comfortablefor us.
I'd recommend it!
Great location and non stop views from the house! Short walk to dramatic coastline with a lot of sea life to explore on the rocky shore. Host was very responsive to any issues we had!
What a great place to stay for the week! Shannah was so easy to work with. The home was very comfortable-great beds, well supplied kitchen AND THE VIEW was incredible. We watched the ocean every morning over coffee and the evening sunsets were incredible from the deck! We walked into town daily, visiting nature trails, Black Sands Beach, tide pools and the local restaurants. The walk back up was enough to justify that glass of wine/beer back “home”. I would highly recommend this place for one or two couples or a family. Be sure to stock up on groceries before coming out as the two local markets are small.
