About the host
Your host
This cottage is owned and managed by our family through our company, TDGL. We have long loved the Thousand Islands and everything this special region offers. After spending many summers here, we were excited to renovate this property and share it with others who appreciate the beauty of the river, boating, and time outdoors. Our goal is to provide a comfortable, well-equipped place where guests can relax, gather with family and friends, and enjoy the charm of island life.
Why they chose this property
Hill Island sits in the heart of the Thousand Islands and offers some of the most beautiful and private waterfront in the region. We love the peaceful setting, the incredible river views, and the boating opportunities right outside the door. The St. Lawrence River is also world-renowned for fishing, with exceptional bass, pike, and muskie waters throughout the area. The location is also very convenient — you can drive directly onto the island across the Thousand Islands Bridge while still enjoying the feeling of being surrounded by water and nature.
What makes this property unique
Privacy is one of the things that truly sets this property apart. In a region where many waterfront cottages sit very close together, this cottage enjoys an unusually private setting with neighbouring cottages set well apart and naturally screened by trees. Across the water to the south is protected state parkland, and behind the cottage is federal parkland, creating open, unspoiled views and a very peaceful atmosphere that is increasingly rare in the Thousand Islands.
The cottage itself has been thoughtfully renovated while preserving its original charm. The open living spaces are designed around the river views, with long south- and west-facing sightlines that provide beautiful sunsets. With a private dock, clear water for swimming, kayaks and paddleboards, and plenty of room to relax both indoors and outdoors, it’s an ideal place to experience the Thousand Islands in comfort and privacy.
