About this property

Classic Maine Summer Cottage on the Ocean

This classic Maine summer cottage was built in 1912 and its original design has been preserved—the beadboard wood throughout and the large windows looking out on the harbor give it timeless character. The setting offers all that’s needed for a classic coastal stay: a generous, South-facing porch overlooking the harbor, a small beach for exploring, a deep-water dock, and indoor comforts for rainy days and evenings—games, puzzles, bumper pool, and a large stone fully-stocked wood fireplace.

With four bedrooms and three bathrooms upstairs, two sleeping porches, and a fifth bedroom downstairs with adjacent full bath, the house is ideal for family or friend reunions.

Outside, the lawn slopes gently to the water, where you’ll find a seawall, rocks to climb on, a deep-water dock with a swim ladder, and a small beach.

This is a place for unplugged, old-fashioned Maine summers—with enough modern comfort to make it easy (including wifi throughout).

The main floor of the home features a large living room with a stone fireplace, multiple seating areas, and a bumper pool table—perfect for some good old-fashioned family competition! There is a large dining table that expands seating from six to twelve, a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances (original cast iron stove not in use), a beautiful front porch with harbor views, a twin bedroom and full bath off the kitchen, and a large washer and dryer for guest use on the back (lattice enclosed) porch.

Upstairs features two water-view bedrooms with queen beds and ensuite bathrooms, one rear bedroom with a queen bed, one rear bedroom with twin beds, a shared newly renovated full bathroom for rear bedrooms, and two enclosed sleeping porches with cots (perfect for kids!) Each bedroom has a closet and a dresser.

This property is a one-mile walk to downtown Boothbay Harbor, where guests can enjoy delicious fresh seafood from one of the many restaurants, enjoy shopping for souvenirs, and walking the quaint streets of this special harbor town.

Please note that this is a historic cottage with original finishes, not a contemporary home. Boats and kayaks are not provided, but can be rented and delivered easily through Maine Kayak in downtown Boothbay Harbor.
