Friends-get away weekend

Absolute beautiful location. Very well set up rental. Thought of everything a person, family would need. Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, nice sheets & all bath supplies. Only down side is not handicapped or elderly accessible. Would definitely rent again.

We stayed here with 3 other couples in early June and had the best time. We loved getting up early and sitting on the deck or in front of the huge window enjoying the view. Seeing the lobster boats go in and out every day was great and we had the pleasure of meeting some of the owner’s family that were in town from the Netherlands (the aunt and uncles were in their 90’s!). They were able to tell us some of the history of the house and it’s contents which made it even more special for us. Thank you for sharing your fabulous house with us!!

Beautiful view

Gorgeous house with outstanding views. Rooms are very small compared to pictures. Home is fully stocked, beds are Uber comfortable. Not for older folks or people with disabilities. Lots of stairs and trail to get to house on rocky ledge. No central air or heat, no fire pit. We were very comfortable and fully enjoyed Boothbay. Lots of delicious seafood and great shopping, museums and art galleries. Would highly recommend.

Amazing Maine

This house is what I think about when I think of Maine. It’s old, but well kept and all necessary modern comforts. The view is what this place is all about. Literally situated on a rocky shoreside with sea, bay and forest views, I don’t think one could have a better view. And the sunroom at the front of the house is perfect to take it all in rain or shine, while the huge deck is perfect for sunny days and clear dark nights. Watch lobsterman pull pots right from the house. Just amazing. And all the kitchen equipment to have a lobster feast! It’s also a quick 5 minute drive to BoothBay.

Million Dollar Views

The deck views from the Oceanfront Cottage provided the quintessential coastal Maine experience! We saw birds, seals, recreation boats and lobster boats right from our perch above the water. The kitchen is well equipped with tools and supplies, and when indoors, we were drawn to the window-lined enclosed porch to look out upon the water. The windows and doors in the porch room are new, and some of the exterior shingles and decking have been updated. This property worked well for our small group of four, but it should be noted that reaching the house from the parking spots might be a challenge for someone with physical disabilities; there are steps to climb and a narrow, gravel path to follow to get to the house. Also, something I missed but is stated in the property description: the bedroom with the second bathroom and shower is located downstairs and is accessible only by going outdoors. The second bathroom is tiny, and you must be able to climb a few stairs to reach it. It worked for us, and we loved showering with the window open!Overall, the Oceanfront Cottage was everything we wanted in a Maine lodging, and the proximity to Boothbay Harbor and all it has to offer is perfect!

Breathtaking view

The house is built in a perfect place. The photos of the view do not do it justice. We spent the majority of our time out on the deck enjoying the weather and the view. There is so much wildlife that you can view from the house, including seals and bald eagles. The house itself is well furnished and stocked. I travel frequently and book through VRBO the majority of the time and this house was better stocked and equipped than any house I have stayed in. It is also close to restaurants and the downtown area for daily excursions. I want to add that although the house lacks the modern amenities that most houses have including a HVAC, insulation, and updated bathrooms, staying in this house was wonderful! The weather was perfect so the rooms were cool to sleep in and the normal modern amenities were barely noticed in the "prairie house," as we termed it! :) You will not regret this house or the view and we highly recommend it. We hope to be back soon!

Unique and charming cottage

The perfect quintessential Maine cottage in a breaktaking location. The house offers a lot of privacy and it was perfect for our two families with two babies. Access to a private beach in the neighborhood. From the deck you can watch the boats pass back and forth on the water. Peaceful, comfortable, relaxing. We are grateful for such a memorable stay!

Quintessential Maine Cottage

This Maine cottage was all that we hoped for. The view was incredible through the large picture windows and on the deck. The cottage was around 100 years old and was not insulated but this added to the character of the place. There were apple floor heaters to stay warm and cozy. It was convenient to many very fun activities and delightful restaurants. I certainly hope to return.

Truly unique home in a very beautiful setting. Location was great. Listing did not say that the two bedrooms were actually accessed outside, over a few rocks and down some stairs. Was fine for our family, but worth noting for many others.

Perfect Maine Cottage

If you want a true Maine coastline setting this is the place. The views are amazing and we just sat on the deck and in the house looking out at the harbor. So much to see from boats to wildlife. Very close to Boothbay Harbor town that has great restaurants and things to do. Southport was also right down the road, which was also a great place. The neighbors were great and gave us tips on what to do. Overall, an amazing place to stay!

A spectacular gem in Boothbay!

Very well taken care of home, nestled on the waterways in Boothbay! Perfect for any family getaway and has an ambiance that will create memories for a lifetime! The view is spectacular and the home is equipped with just about anything you may need for your stay! Truly a one of a kind gem that we were blessed to have been able to stay! The owner had open and excellent lines of communication. We loved it!
