About the host
Hosted by Hossein
We’re a family based in the GTA who created this property as a place to step away from busy city life and enjoy time together in nature. What started as a personal retreat has gradually become a space we’re happy to share with others who appreciate privacy, comfort, and a well-maintained environment.
We’ve put a lot of thought into making the cottage functional for families and groups—from spacious indoor areas to outdoor features that allow everyone to relax or stay active. We personally use the property, so we care about keeping it clean, organized, and properly managed.
As hosts, we aim to keep things simple and reliable: clear communication, easy self check-in, and a smooth experience from arrival to departure. While we’re not on-site, we’re always available if needed.
If you’re looking for a place to unwind, spend quality time, and enjoy the outdoors without unnecessary complications, this is exactly what we designed it for.

Why they chose this property
We chose this area for a simple reason: it offers a rare balance of privacy, natural beauty, and accessibility. Being on Michael Lake with surrounding waterways like Balsam Lake and Pigeon Lake gives you a true cottage experience—quiet, open, and connected to nature—without being isolated.
What stands out most is the elevated setting and 360° views, which allow both sunrise and sunset from the same property. That’s something we didn’t find in most other locations and it makes a noticeable difference in how you experience the space throughout the day.
At the same time, you’re still close to essentials—grocery stores, gas stations, and local services are within a short drive—so you don’t have to over-plan or bring everything with you.
The area is also great for boating, fishing, and exploring nearby parks and hiking trails, making it suitable whether you want a quiet stay or something more active.
For us, it’s the combination of space, water access, views, and convenience that makes this location stand out—and why we chose it.

What makes this property unique
What truly sets this property apart is the combination of scale, privacy, and functionality—something that’s difficult to find in a single cottage.
First, the setting: a private island-style property on over 3 acres of elevated land, offering uninterrupted 360° lake views with both sunrise and sunset. Most waterfront cottages offer one or the other—not both.
Second, the capacity and layout: the home comfortably accommodates up to 14 guests, with a spacious open-concept design and multiple indoor and outdoor areas. It’s built to handle large families and groups without feeling crowded or compromised.
Third, the balance between nature and amenities. You’re not just getting a remote cabin—you have a heated pool, large entertainment spaces, high-speed internet, smart TV, and multiple recreational features (trampoline, basketball, watercraft, games). It’s designed for both relaxation and activity in all seasons.
Finally, accessibility. While the property feels private and secluded, it remains within easy reach of the GTA and close to essential services, making planning simple and practical.
In short, this is not just a cottage—it’s a well-rounded, large-scale retreat that combines privacy, views, capacity, and amenities in a way that’s rarely available in one place.
