Somerset Palms Studio Apartment is located in Horseshoe Bay on Magnetic Island, Queensland. Magnetic Island is surrounded by The Coral Sea, accessible only by the daily ferry service making it a very unique environment. It is classified as 70% National Park and home to the largest koala habitat in Queensland. It is located within the UNESCO Great Barrier Reef World Heritage area.

All you have to do is kick off your shoes & relax by the pool. Just allow the balmy warmth of the tropical breeze to sooth your mind & body as you absorb the panoramic views of the mountains & surrounding palm trees. Wash away your cares in the Coral Sea, at dusk witness the glowing hues of a tropical sunset or stroll to the Forts Walk, go koala spotting & hand feed rock wallabies.

Somerset Palms is your private tropical studio apartment located just a few steps away from the private resort style pool area complete with an outdoor shower, built in seating under palm trees and secluded decked areas with sun loungers. Just bring your swimmers and a hat and be prepared to relax.

Somerset Palms has been renovated and tastefully styled with both antique and modern furnishings that create an inviting and relaxed atmosphere. Bespoke fixtures are added throughout such as a contemporary steel and glass barn sliding door separating the living/dining area from the bedroom for added privacy and functionality.

The bathroom is contemporary and spacious, with obscure glass louvers for added privacy; there is one small step up from the bedroom area to the bathroom.

The kitchenette is equipped with a stainless steel kettle and toaster, a microwave, all necessary dinner ware, cutlery, BBQ tools and of course wine glasses. Quality oil, salt and pepper grinders, tea, coffee and sugar are included in the pantry with other necessary basics like paper towel, place mats, serving bowls etc.

You can sit and eat at the dining table or choose to dine semi alfresco at the bespoke bi-fold eatery gazing leisurely out to the lush tropical gardens. Enjoy your morning tea and coffee on the deck soaking up the morning sunshine and watch the butterflies flutter by. The gas BBQ is conveniently located only a few steps from the apartment; it has a cooking burner for a fry pan/wok. There is also plastic dinnerware, glasses etc that can be safely used by the pool.

The apartment has ceiling fans and a split system air conditioner, flat screen TV, Netflix, there are multiple power points situated throughout and located close to the bed for phone charging/tablet use.

There are two private entry doors to the apartment, one is accessed from the main deck/verandah as you enter from the street and come through the pedestrian gate, the other door is located around the side of the house.

You will find the key lock box located next to the entry door located on the main deck/verandah entrance. There is a laundry located on the property with a washing machine and dryer that can be accessed for an extra charge.

Horseshoe Bay has many walking trails including the infamous Forts Walk where you will no doubt see koalas languishing in gum trees. There are also trails to Radical Bay, Arthur Bay and Florence Bay that are only accessible on foot meaning that they are secluded tropical island beaches. There is also the Horseshoe Bay Lagoon Conservation Park board walk and Butterfly walk.

Horseshoe Bay boasts the best selection of dining on the island with beach front views of the sunset and yachts. Dining options include pub style food, Mexican, Fish and Chips and two cafes. Another option is Bounce which is located on Horseshoe Bay Road, they offer breakfast with the Ranger where you get up close to the animals, they also have a visiting pizza van and activities such as yoga and aqua aerobics. Horseshoe Bay is just one of the two beaches on the island that have nets for all year round swimming.

Getting around on the island is easy with the bus service providing hourly trips to and from the ferry terminal and to Horseshoe Bay. Somerset Palms Studio Apartment is conveniently located close to the bus stop meaning you can readily access the island. They offer day passes making it a cheap transport alternative to hiring a car.

There are many activities and places to explore on and off the island. You can go on a day tour with SeaLink to Orpheus Island or the Great Barrier Reef dive tour. There are diving options on the island - you can hire snorkeling gear and go on a self guided tour of the reef, or if being in the water isn't for you then there are lunch and sunset tours on a yacht or early morning/sunset canoe tours.

There is always something to see and do on Magnetic Island. Or alternatively, go to the beach and choose to do absolutely nothing, just relax and absorb the ambience of a tropical island.
