Kismet Cottage is the perfect base to explore beautiful Magnetic Island beaches, bays and the wonderful facilities close by. Ideal for a romantic getaway for two or a single"s escape, the cottage is located one street back from spectacular sunsets and romantic walks on Horseshoe Bay beach or a relaxing drink or meal at the cafes, restaurants and Marlin Bar Pub.

The iconic cottage has been beautifully appointed and decorated with a mix of modern, traditional and nautical themed pieces including a king size four post bed, large rustic timber coffee table, flat screen TV, DVD, bluetooth music player, comfortable lounge and single arm chair with foot stool.
*The original timber floors have been sanded and polished. The original kitchen blends with the quaint interior which is equipped with full-size fridge and freestanding gas oven and stove top (no BBQ). *The bathroom has a toilet, tiled floors and shower.
*The living area has a ceiling fan and large air conditioner which is sufficient to cool through to the bedroom and the louvre windows throughout attracts the ocean breezes, ensured by only being 50 metres from the water"s edge.

*Kismet Cottage is completely self-contained and private, with a lovely north facing porch at the front and covered seating also at the back of the house with open laundry and washing machine.

A Getaway

A little old house, done up nicely. Quiet, peaceful, 5 mins from swimming in the stinger enclosure and shops. Very effective air-conditioning- essential in NQ summer. Kitchen well set up - we chose to mostly eat in. Working washing machine was handy for longer stays. Maybe, a technician could improve the sound of the TV - very echo-y for some reason. A top place - we would return.

Great little base for 2 within easy walking distance to beach and shops

Lovely little cottage - quiet and well set up. Kitchen basics avl. Suitable for a couple. The single bed only really suitable for a young child and no curtains in that area but they don’t advertise it as more than 1 bedroom so fine. Main bedroom lovely w ceiling fan,nice linen and comfy king size bed. We had our food delivered by the supermarket in Nelly Bay as we didn’t have a car. Cindy and her team very helpful and check in/out easy. Close to beach and not far to walk to bus stops but at the end of a quiet steeet.

Great location

Close to everything and very quiet. The property my be old but very clean and tidy. Well equipped. The kitchen and bathroom are a little dated but everything works and is functional. Spacious shower. If you are coming by bus it is only a 10 minute stroll from the bus stop. We would happily stay again.

Perfectly situated with artsy decor and fabulous bed

Love love this place. It has all the basic things you need and the 4 poster king bed is perfect for a comfortable holiday sleep. So convenient to the waterfront and shops. Hope to be back.

Kismet

Kismet is convinently located and in a beautiful quite cul de sac. Decorated very nicely and embracing some of those gorgeous vintage traits of a house of its era. The kitchen has all the supplies we needed and some very nice tableware to boot. The beds were comfortable and had plenty of extra sheets/ blankets for cool nights. It didnt bother me not having curtains in the second bed area, however might bother some people. The only thing we couldnt find was the bbq that the welcome information had on it, however we didnt need one anyway. Assuming to COVID it is likely that the cleanliness has been overlooked before our check in, with the place been very dusty, ?a blood spot on the windowsill and the bathroom sink tap been taped over. The most concerning thing for us became the very large rusted out hole in the air vent for the house waste/septic system, which we discovered due to a wafting smell and a unmovable resident frog. There was also some overflow of toilet waste from this location. The property manager was prompt at sending a plumber, however he was unable to fix this before we left. Overall a nice location with all the amenities you could need. Perfect for a lovely getaway with your partner or a friend etc.

Had a great couple days at the Kismet. Organization, check-in etc. was super easy; great location close to the beach and all major shops and restaurants in Horseshoe Bay; perfectly clean; beautifully decorated cottage, so many beautiful details (beach vibes); kitchen fully equipped; house generally has pretty much everything already there. Will be back!
